Never understood the death threats crap. Really where does it get anyone besides looking like a pompous a**?

They get to stroke their E-peen and make someone else misserable, or invoke a fight. Yes some Anti-ending people get too worked up and act insane, being ****s, etc... But the Pro-ending bunch is no better, some of them have been harassing us on the demand fb since the issue went viral...

Ya you got a point there. I'm anti-ending, but I have yet to bash on anyone or harrass them. Have better things to do than argue, threaten, or harrass people over the internet. Have had a few constructive discussions though.

Constructive discussions are fun.

Ya they can be. Sadly it seems lately though that all the constructive ones end up badly because someone comes in being a belligerent a** . Then the whole thread turns into a flame fest....

They are.

And while I understand that it's hard to get a pro-ending post to stick on the boards right now, I've read most of them and few seem to be very well thought out. None that I've seen address even half of the primary concerns of the anti-enders.

All the pro-ender posts I've seen lean on artistic integrity (which is contentious), philosophical interest in the ending themes, or the usually inflammatory 'I don't need my hand held' stance and almost always includes direct insults to the other side because they want Bioware to provide answers.

I've never seen someone adequately address the various plot holes, and I've never seen anyone tackle the pre-release PR half-truths that have been floating around for some time. This is a problem since those are a big reason for why this movement exploded so much.

Everyone is angry not just because the ending is unsatisfactory, but because they feel directly lied to by Bioware and have the quotes to prove it.

People tend to not jump into discussions, or react passionately/angrily towards something until it effects something they like negatively. The people who like the ending would be angry if it was something they didn't like and the people who don't like it would be fine if it were something they did like... In other words, the people who are happy with the ending, afraid of it being changed are no different than us anti-ending folks.. How do you solve this? Well... The same way Bioware always has... Giving the player choice in his/her story. That's why i support a wide range of endings based around the same core plot/ending idea.. People who want happy ending can get that and the people who want bittersweet can get that... But I think everyone can agree that some plot holes need to be fixed. and closure with the decisions you made need to be shown.

Not everyone wants to keep the ending, and i partially agree that it doesn't fit with the rest of the series... But if they fix the current ending to allow a more wide range of endings, I'll be fine, and others will get to keep their ending.

Wait what...

What happened with Jessica and where is the confirmation that there's a new ending DLC?

I agree with the OP to an extent. The team worked hard on this game and I think recognition is due. They didn't make the ending because they thought it would ****** people off. They actually thought it was good, and it must be heartbreaking to realize so many did not enjoy the game they put so much work into.

No, I do not like the ending, but I can appreciate their work, and the other 90% of the game.

I was under the impression that most of the backlash towards Jessica was in fact from Reddit, and not BSN.

Didn't know about the death threat (seriously, though, on the internet [and at times in rl] that eventually happens to anyone controversially high-profile enough... not that that makes it okay), but I just read the dialogue with Jessica and some people in the "Bioware PR" thread and, god damn it, I am pissed and disappointed for her. Seriously ****ty way to repel her away, and she did nothing to deserve it. So, e-loves for Jessica. :\\

How can you possibly know that? If it came from Reddit, then Redditors should get the blame. Not saying BSN is perfect or anything, but having been to Reddit I'm not surprised the "movement" against her took up speed there.

The second you call something "gay" to express that you don't like it, your opinion becomes irrelevant.

It is true that many fans have lashed out against devs, and that's uncalled for and unfair. Mac Walter is an incredible writer, Casey Hudson is an incredible Game Director. Their work proves this. Just because they make one mistake doesn't make them horrible people or horrible game designers. Many members of the "movement," are voicing their concerns respectfully. Unfortunately just as many are not doing so, and those people give everyone else a bad name.

From what I have heard, some guy who was bad at English said he'd give her a "shepard end" or something, not knowing that some people would interpret this as a death threat. he later posted on BSN explaining it wasn't what he meant, but now it's spread around that she got a death threat. If this isn't the case and someone actually threatened her I'd hate to be proven wrong but...

The vocal minority always get's all of the attention, while the more reasonable people who are giving constructive critisism always get overshadowed. Maybe I don't come to the forums enough to see how much crap people have been seeing, but most of the complaints I've seen are totally valid and well worded. No personal attacks, etc.

This reminds me of a story I heard not too long ago. There were these synthetic creatures that had somehow become sentient. Anyways, the entire galaxy hated these creatures because they would kill people and launched a massive attack on the economic center of the galaxy with the help of an entire large cybernetic creature.

Anyways, after a while, people learned that these creatures actually made up a small minority of that entire synthetic race as a whole. The majority of those creatures actually favored peace and had no wish to harm anyone. Eventually, the people and the synthetic creatures learned to work together, and they overcame a force that threatened the entire galaxy.

...or so they thought.

Way to generalize Redditors.  Most of those who interacted with Jessica were quite civil during her AMA.  They asked the proper questions and she enthusiastically answered.  The one I recall that contained negative connotations that she answered she did so with class and made the guy look like the jerk he was.

There are tons of decent Redditors.  Sadly, as it's an extremely large community, there is also a lot of idiots.    We have our idiots too, but we all cry out that we shouldn't be judged by them.

I feel the same sometimes but remember its just sheer volume. The proportion of jackasses is likely the same (low) as it was before, it's just that there are more people here now and you notice them more than the good posters. The majority are quite civil.

Although honestly the people who enjoy seeing other people unhappy (and there have been a few in this thread) are lower than pond scum, as far as I'm concerned.
