Why can't we demand?

Because we didn't make the game and we don't own the company.

We're customers. What if I bought stock in EA (not a good idea, atm)? Would that qualify me to demand? This rational is awful.

I fail to see why I should be chastized by a random internet person over the actions of another random internet person.

You seem to have completely ignored the dozens of other threads and comments that were well thought out and respectful.

Dude you have been terrible.  Saying things like this.  I'm sure you've hurt BW's feelings.

Bioware messed up the endings in my opinion, however we should always act mature about our requests, otherwise we'll be viewed upon as selfish and ungrateful which may guarantee a bad outcome.

Great quote there... let me expand it.

And all muslims are terrorists too...

Look... people are to be judged by their merits, not by their associations, skin color, sexual orientation, political views, etc.

There is something called, personal responsability, and making blank statesments about a group, because of the actions of a few people is really insulting, and furthermore, demeaning to the rest.

There were a few people who went over the top, but most of the people I've seen just pointing out legitimate points in a civilized manner. If a game ruins an entire series we've had 5 years to come to love in 10 minutes, is it wrong for us to ask Bioware to do both itself, and the series justice? Should we just say "Hey, Bioware, great job on that ending even though I really didn't like it and it didn't fulfill what you would promise us!"

Customers have every right to tell a company they don't like the product. What we're doing is NOT just saying "Game sucked, moving on and never giving Bioware money again." We're giving them a chance to make this right and win our loyalty back. We are Bioware's allies in this debacle, not their enemies. However, that does NOT mean we're just going to accept something poorly done based on "artistic integrity".

No, it is not right to ask to redo the ending.

We are right to tell them "Hey, your game was great till that ending. That stuff was really bad"

But to then go and say "Do justice by your product, redo an ending" is too much. They gave you a great product. If the entire game had sucked from the begining, you probably wouldn't even care. The very fact that you care shows that ME3 was great. Just had a poor ending.

So you don't need to accept it. But you can't just demand an ending either. People seem to think its either accept or demand a change. There is also a middle-ground, just tell them what you think about the ending and move on.

Why? I don't understand why that is too much. Is there some moral compass here I'm lacking?

Yea, the whole idea of asking to redo something when you don't like it is unfair. There is money involved in development. It's not like "hey, lets make a game" and they pop one out.

In this case, they did a great job for 99% of the game. If you are going to be so harsh about them for the 1% they failed in, what is the proportionate reaction to devs who screw up entire games?

I never buy another game from those Devs.

Because it doesn't make sense. If someone screwed up the whole game, would you ask them redo the whole game?

Slightly different quantity of work there, no?

Yes, there is a slightly different quanitity of work but it still would be inconsistent to go after the Devs who screw up little while leaving alone those who screw up big time.

So in other words, its like saying we would have left BW alone if they had botched up ME3 in a major way.

Um... I certainly would complain and ask for a refund, yeah.  I would've paid $85 for a piece of **** and lies.

Death Threats? I haven't heard any of that.

Then you haven't been reading some of the pro-ending topics. Anti-Ending Movementers have been threatening those who like the game.

Hate reading comments like "this community has been fantastic" and "yay we retook mass effect".

I didn't like the ending at all.  I didn't like the auto-dialogue.  I didn't like the multiplayer maps ruining the sidequests and i didn't like the new gay characters taking up more screen time than Ashley.

But I have never come on here and reduced Bioware staff to the point where they are visibly upset and refusing to come on the forums.  I have never tried to insist it is right for Bioware to give money to charity (which i'm sure they do).  I have never sworn at people who are just doing a job.

The crazy thing is, ME3 is a great game.  And you so called "fans" enjoyed 99.9% of 3 whole games.  It's just a video game, there are more important things in life.  What you've done to Jessica Merizan is wrong and you cannot call yourself a great community.  You are nothing more than trolls and spoilt gamers.  It's disgusting some of what you people have said to people who are bending over backwards to appease you and who in the end owe you absolutely nothing.  Get over it.

Sure, but you can do the same here. Instead, you are taking a much harsher root that you wouldn't have even taken with these really bad Dev's who screw up entire games.

So there seems to be unfairness in how you are treating Bioware and these other devs. You torment BW but you let loose the guys who screwed up big.

I agree with this topic. It's getting really old seeing the people being so downright abusive and nasty towards Bioware. I can understand if you are disappointed. I can understand wishing things would be different. But the people saying Bioware employees should be fired, death threats, people going to the FTC or BBB or wanting to do a class action lawsuit, giving retailers a hard time until they feel forced to give people full refunds on video games that are opened when they typically don't (even for games so buggy that more deserve it)... that's way too far.

The developers of Mass Effect have every right to put out a totally crap ending.

We also have every right to complain about it.

However, threatening them due to it is stepping over the line. That being said, the VAST MAJORITY of comments I have seen relate directly to the endings and are in no way directed at violence towards the developers.

I dont condone any negativity towards the staff personally but ending the game as it is , full of plot holes, joker flying in space for no reason at all, my li mysteriously vanishing in the normandy when she wa with me on earth, but to create synthetics so organis wont be killed by synthetcs is the equivalance of how jar jar binks killed episode 1. I just wanted something that made sence is all. I recomend all of you check out this link. Very interesting indeed.

You have no idea how hilarious this comment is, in regards to this OP. But, enough of that.

"A lot?" Love how more often than not, we are defined as a "minority," but when it's negative there's suddenly "a lot" of us. Or were you saying "a lot" in regards to our majority?

They only lied about the ending. The rest of the 99% was intact. Now you are still entitled for a refund. But you are not entitled for a new ending.

Agreed what he said is irrational.  It's sad how corporations have some consumers feeling "lucky" to be able to buy something.  Instead of realizing that we are their bosses.  We stop buy, they don't exist.  They've forgotten their own rights and are "angry" at those the defend their rights.
