And I believe that the right choice would be to cast an unknown actor with a lot of acting experience. This actor can look the part too, as long as this person has a lot of acting experience. The reason why I think you should go this route, is because once a long time ago Sean Connery was once an unknown actor with a lot of acting experience, but Ian Fleming wasn't excited about the casting, although Terence Young convinced Fleming that Connery was perfect, because Young would go on to train Sean Connery in the ways of becoming a suave gentleman like Terence Young, himself.
Anyway, my point is that Sean Connery was an unknown and he became quite possibly the best actor to ever play James Bond and nobody had any faith in him whatsoever except for the first Bond director, Terence Young, himself. You guys can probably do the same thing with Commander Shepard if you're lucky. If you pick the right unknown actor to play the role. Also, if the studio demands that a star-actor be cast as Commander Shepard, I think you should try to compromise with them and have a star-actor play a different pivotal character.
By the way I hope no forum fanboys or fangirls, respond to this thread topic, because as far as I'm concerned this was just a private one-sided conversation between Bioware and myself. ("One-sided," meaning it's one-sided so far, I still have to wait for a response from Bioware.)
So, that's my advice. I really hope you're going to take me and my sage-advice seriously, Bioware. Because I want you to be, at the very least considering what I've told you. In my opinion, it's very important that you try to cast the right person as Commander Shepard.
On a side note, basically what I'm trying to say is, if you listen to my advice and you find an unknown actor who nobody has any faith in, except for the director, you should go for that one, especially IF you've chosen a director who's good at his or her's craft.
