I have all the infiltrator classes and felt like trying the claymore on my Quarian last night and did descent despite the points not being distributed to maximize weapon damage.  I said descent because I would die almost every wave on Gold trying to be Rambo and was basically 2nd on the points. 

I just want to know if using other level 1 shotguns would be better than the claymore despite it being a level 3.

I would test out the other shotguns but I'm at work right now.
