Because I was experiencing some intermittent connection to the internet, I actually wasn't able to install ME3 for days after I received it. Not that it's that big a deal, right? It's nothing people haven't encountered with other companies that have unreasonable copyright protection. Though it IS interesting to think that if EA ever takes Origin down, my collector's edition will become a pretty little paperweight.

But when my internet went down again, I experienced a problem that really grates my nerves. I got a message entering the game that my From Ashes DLC cannot be authorized. When I tried to play the game, I couldn't load my save because it "couldn't find the DLC." Once it came back up, the problem was over.

So... I have to be online and connected to Origin not only to install the game, but to play it, now? Single player? Can someone explain? I've searched this and other forums for previous posts on the issue.

Let's be honest. There was a cracked download of this game available shortly after release, if not before. The availability of multiplayer will be a much more effective deterrent to illegal copies than the copy protection will ever be.

But if I want to play or install my single player game unmolested by a looming lack of internet, then I'd have to get the crack copy.

Same problem here.
We bought the game, for a bit extra for the N7 edition,
we enter the confirmation codes,
we downloaded the DLC.
We have registered the game with an EA/Origin account, but we still need a confirmation everytime the game starts up. For singleplayer. It's ridiculous.

I had this problem occur again last night.

I can't help but wonder where all of my $80 is going. Is it going to the team that made an incredible and compelling story? Or is it going to EA's pet project, Origin, and the continuation of this trend in future copyright protection software? Is it going to the sound effects artists and musicians who make such haunting music and gunshots or biotic explosions that sound real, or is it supporting rushed deadlines and incomplete endings to be patched over with costly DLC?

As a consumer I'm supposed to vote with money (or the absence thereof) for what I want or know I should be getting. But, having a line-item veto would be really nice.

...Hello? Bioware? EA? Is someone listening?
