Simple solution to not getting kicked, host the games. On a side note, ill admit that i kick a lot of people based on their n7 rating. BUT at the same time I also check most these players race/class combo and weapons and usually yeah, they are totally clueless on how to play. when you jump into gold knowing your going to be carrying the team, you want at least half decent members.

seriously a lot of people think that just because they have "insert weapon here" or "insert class/race combo here" that they can compete in gold no problem and that just isnt the case. I pug mostly, but its so frustrating that i get so many low level players, skill and class. I honestly wish I could outright kick people as long as I'm the host.

Even when you ask politely or tell them you want them to leave they stay in the lobby to be an ass until the votes pass to kick. IM THE LEADER, LET ME KICK. restrict gold difficulty to 100+ n7 rating, silver to 30+. I understand some people want to play with friends and run them through certain difficulties, but seriously, there needs to be some type of restriction in play or this will continue to plague the match making system.

Has happened to me before... but the guy was at least polite and explained what happened which gave me the opportunity to leave on my own without just getting kicked wondering why. Restored my faith in humanity for like a whole five seconds.

Likely they were elitist over class there.
Which is kind of worse, but then all kicking is bad, not as bad as rage quiting though leaving team down a bullet sponge.

Yeah you might be right, i just presumed at the time that it was because his N7 was only 40. Still it was only silver and i would not kick someone just because of their class choice or N7 rating. I would rather just exit the lobby and find a friendlier game.
People rage quit? Never had this happen although i suppose i have had people leave matches for unexplained reasons, i always just presumed disconnect or something.

You should join my lobby. When I'm hosting a silver match, I let N7 1 Level 1 Engineer or other class play with me and a friend of mine. And they did good as well as got more experience :)

On the other hand, maybe they forgot to make it a private and was waiting for friend. It's better to find a better lobby anyway then to play uncomfortably. N7 level doesn't mean anything actually. Everyone should be given a chance.

Last night, joined a game with my 20 Human Engineer. Yeah, I was using a starter AR and starter pistol. Specifically, an Avenger-X and a backup Predator-X. The former had a Stability Damper V and Precision Scope V, while the latter had High Caliber Barrel V and Extended Magazine V.  The AR was far and away the best automatic fire weapon I had, stat-wise.

I use them for two reasons: first off, as level X weapons, they actually have better overall stats than any of my other weapons (none of my uncommons or rares are higher than level III), and second, that particular pairing allows me to have +200% recharge speed for some crazy overload/combat drone/incinerate spam.  My primary damage rarely comes from my guns.

I immediately hear (in a BRONZE game) "[expletive] noobsauce engineer [expletive], play a useful class" and get kicked.

C'est la vie.

Edit: That said, once I finally get a decent semi-auto weapon that doesn't massacre my recharge rate, I'm totally switching to it.  No point in carrying an AR in silver when my overload smokes its DPS.

I'm n7 54 with a level 20 Asari vanguard and level 17 Turian soldier that I've been playing. How do I know it's not my class? Because they scream through the mic hey kick that lower level. Lower lever can't refer to my actual level since I'm 17 and 20. They were in the teens but had higher n7 ratings. It's elitism. I can solo silver with my Asari. I play with people because it's much more fun, but to kick someone because of their n7 level or class is beyond ridiculous.

Agree in total, I often quit in lobby if a vote takes place.
I don't mind losing or winning, just playing. If you win on silver with a level one player then you did great, got a story out of it.

I think if you notice people disconnect when they bleed out. It's not just low levels either, people just don't have patience or play well together at times.
Which is silly you loose XP / credits just because you messed up and flatlined, then quit because of ???

I will say the connections are bad however so not all disconnects are stroopy droppies.

So? Not everyone wants to be your best friend. Find another lobby, there are plenty.

Ok those guys were the Noobs, Engineer human is by far one of the strongest you can get.
Heck in a game on bronze where my character glitched . So I spent four waves + dealing no damage and abilities were not activating acting as a bullet shield.. I still topped second place.

I disagree, my N7 rank was 30 the first time I won on gold.
For me, they just need to restrict the lvl of a character. I mean, you can only play on Gold if you character is at least lvl 18-19, Silver if your character is lvl 10-11, etc.

@marshalleck - who put the rocks in your granola? I never asked to be best friends with anyone. I'm tired of people kicking me out of matches for a simple n7 rating. I don't like to brag but I'm extremely good in multiplayer. I rarely, and I mean rarely, need to be revived in a silver/gold match. I know how to use my class, been playing mass effect longer than these leader board elitists have. Combine that with terrible match making an having to wait a while to find a decent match, yeah it's pretty annoying.

They don't know that. I've done gold with level 8s who tear it apart, but that doesn't mean I'll just take any random level 8 along on gold runs. Being kicked 9 times out of 10 isn't personal. Don't make it personal.

so it happens once and now in your head it happens all the time?

my point is that we all get booted for various reasons and many of them can be stupid.  Who are these people to you anyways to make you so mad?

You can't force people to be reasonable...otherwise there wouldn't be nearly as many problems in the world today.

Do you want to play with people who would kick you based on your N7 level? No? Then what's the problem? Join another lobby, play with people who are more tolerant.

If the point of the rant is that you are feeling inadequate because some random people on the internet judged you...well, then that's a different problem.

I've pugged Silver with level 1s and Gold with level 5s (nobody was over 10, and yes, we cleared it). Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose - don't take it personally, and move on.

Dear god, will you vote kick cry babies ever realize how ridiculous you sound taking these things as personal insults? If I had a penny for every tear shed over vote kicking and a nickel for every time you people throw around the word "elitist" I'd be able to pay the development team to make a new Mass Effect multiplayer with no vote kick just for you guys.

inb4 I'm an elitist.

I've been kicked for not having a microphone from Silver, but what does it matter? You don't need one for Silver, it's simple enough. My N7 just got to 254 so luckily I'm not kicked so often because of it. People usually say "well he must know what he's doing", but then why wouldn't someone with an N7 of 50 know what they're doing?

The only time I've seen people booted in lobbies I've been in were because they were taking forever to click ready. However your personal experiences may vary.

It's important to remember that you have to do about 3x more damage in silver than bronze. If someone is under level 10, or with no overpowered weapon or skill, then it would almost certainly benefit him to play on bronze. For him to try to play silver or gold is the same as asking others to carry his weight, and possibly cause the team to fail so no one gets the 10th wave credit. Just imagine if there was a team of four sub level 10's with avengers trying to do silver. They would make maybe 2x less exp and credit by doing silver with the same amount of time and effort than if they played bronze..

Even though I have 240ish rank, I play bronze 80% of the time because it's so darn easy compared to silver and I don't have to worry about bad players or leechers causing the mission to fail. When you have played a silver game where you had 80k score and the next highest is 25k you have every right to be kicking people you think may prevent 10th wave from being completed.

This doesn't prove that they kicked you for N7 rating.  It merely proves that they used your N7 rating to identify which guy to kick.

Bet they'd have reacted differently if you showed up with, say, a level 20 Salarian Infiltrator.  Both of the classes you've been playing are generally considered subpar, on the lower end of playable.  As a rule, you're going to get kicked from Silver/Gold if you show up with both a subpar class and a subpar gun regardless of N7 rating.

If you got kicked from a group that thinks mics are needed on silver, they probably didn't complete the map anyways and you just saved yourself 20 minutes wasted time. Move along to another lobby.
