Yeah, something about "noob, quick-scope ftw", I played sniper role in many FPS games for more than 10 years, shooting Phantom on its head while running everywhere with a Javelin isn't really that hard.

Its the "item level" phenomenon

The same thing happens when mmo players make raid groups and such. People think some number makes them bad ass or something.

The only reason I can see why someone would want to level up the same class again other than SP would be to have a different build and not wait until they get a respec drop. Still, I'd rather play a level 20 character over a longer period of time than just level up multiple times to get that score higher.

Kinda stupid.

It goes both ways though. Earlier I was trying to do some bronze matches after promoting my chars to respec them. In 2 lobbies the leaders refused to start because my N7 level was too high, they said it's because they didn't want me stealing their kills.

Tried Raptor VIII for a hell of it today after promoting my Sentinel, goddamn it's terrible. It's basically like AR, but you have to press manually to shoot it and maybe just tiny bit more damage and accuracy.

haha it is Captain. I felt like I'm using an assault rifle instead of a sniper rifle. I admire people who are good with it though.

I have 2 things to say on the matter if you dont want to get kicked dont join a public lobby get on with your friends and I kick kids out of my lobby all the time who dont have mics or they look like they are going to be going down every 5 seconds like a level 6 and under on gold or silver. I dont care how good you think you are. You are probably going to go down, so stick to silvers with friends or bronzes.

I loved playing with randoms back when it was Demo MP. Now the elitists are insufferable and I prefer to stick to playing with people I know.

Huge shame; it was always a thrill to completely kick ass with a haphazard team of randoms.

I don't kick anyone anymore after an n7 level 18 adept and 35 vanguard crushed gold with me (geth).

When I look to fill slots in a group with strangers, I have a few basic criteria which, if not met, will result in a kick.

Of these, the single most important one is this: You must have a mic and acknowledge that we are talking to you and that you are willing to follow a battle plan. 

Other than that, I'll just kick anyone who shows notable signs of being mentally handicapped, whether that's being a human vanguard with a widow and a claymore, or having a racist gamertag, or whatever else.

This means I kick a lot of people.  However, I couldn't care less about N7 level and have successfully run Gold with a helpful N7 level 2 player who LISTENED and did little more than use tactical cloak to revive and grab objectives (he was very quickly up to high level and played with us the rest of the day, and became a valuable team member).  By contrast, I have seen an N7 level 500 person be less than worthless to a team.

Did a silver game just while ago...me being level 20 and 3 lvl 5-8s. I am just under n7 500, they were all sub 20s; won it in 18 mins. Had to be one smoothest games I have played of recent.

To sum it all up...

n7 means NOTHING but how much time or money you wasted in game. Certainly not an indicator of skill either. The only difference is what guns they have and even a n7 sub 10 could pull a widow on their first spectre pack thus making them a DPS god.

edit. only reason i kick is for one reason: sitting there for 5 minutes and not hitting space bar. Safer and faster to buy your stuff out side of a game lobby anyways.

dumb of them.. they must mistakenly think it's like CoD or BF3
&
 don't realize that we all get the same experience points at end of mission & that we get the same experience for each team mate's kills so there's no such thing as 'kill stealing' like in other shooters so if your team mate kills something, you get the same experience too

it's more like a RPG where everyone shares in the experience, not just the person who shoots

Only thing I try avoiding is human vanguard, not because they are suicidal, but female voice whenever she charges and do whatever just gives me a migraine. I would like to play game without... yeah without headache please.

Its got to be on XBL ...the kicking is rampant, becasue on PC its not really a big thing. I only time your really kicked on PC is afk or something.

I joined a Silver game earlier today on my level 11 Salarian Infiltrator. 2 people were voting to kick a level 20 Quarian Engineer, i can only presume because his N7 rating was less than 50 as they did not try to kick me and i was 9 levels lower. I left the game because i refuse to kick someone just because they have a low N7 rating.

I don't care about N7 rating. I give people the benefit of a doubt. Then again I don't see many attempted kicks except for people who are impatient waiting on the person who isn't ready.
