It always bugged me that the story and dialogue almost completely ignores Shepard's class.

Like in the Ardat-Yakshi monastery when Samara goes flying/floating off to chase her daughter I kept yelling at the screen, "FOLLOW HER! YOU CAN DO THAT TOO. F***ING FOLLOW HER!"

omg dude this is exactly how i felt with the citadel Kai Leng situation. When he was running away i was just waiting to do some biotic something...and then when i saw him jump on the car i thought my character would biotically pull the whole car down...dreams ruined.

if you bring kaidan along for the monestary mission biotic shep has some lulzy banter with him about samara being able to fly but them not being able to

Post a video please, my Kaiden is dead, but I want to see this.

There is a scene with Chakwas early on, which states that the L3 implants, while safer, are less powerful than L2s in general, but that Shepard's L3s seem to be an exception.

Does she mention this if I'm a soldier? I honestly may have just breezed past this, and like I said, I ignoe Kaidan until I leave him to die :P

No, it is one of the (very) few biotic-only scenes in any of the games.

The biotic only scenes don't really work right, I got these scenes as an Infiltrator on my last playthru. At least the one where Kaidan calls you an exception

shep. is a terrible biotic since he can't even biotic levitate himself to the ground or break a window which you think would be like grade 1 level biotics.

Story-wise, he probably falls somewhere above people like Kaidan but below people like Samara. So, pretty powerful but not a biotic prodigy.

From a gameplay perspective, he's the most powerful! At least that's how I feel with my Vanguard Shep! Charging around the battlefield, and nova'ing the crap out of mobs, and hitting enemies with a double pull and then blasting them apart with shockwave...

I haven't tried Adept yet, but the lack of Charge automatically makes it feel less badass...lol.

I literally beat the game without firing a shot. Clearly my Shep when not in cutscenes is the most powerful in the galaxy.

Yep, you can absolutely do that,, but I've gotta admit to having some fun with the Scorpion pistol & Warp Ammo :)

Shepard is an L3 biotic, according to Kaidan L2's usually spike higher but Shepard is an exception to this.

Doesn't Shepard get an L5 retrofit while Cerberus puts him back together? I don't think we're told what the significance of those implants are beyond being a new secret prototype.

Shepard is probably a little more powerful than Miranda and co, but less powerful than Jack or Samara. I don't think he'd of been capable of holding the barrier in the collector base.

I think Jack was established as being the strongest biotic in the galaxy. She's definitely the strongest human biotic. Samara is an old asari, and asari biotics seem to get more powerful with age. So if I had to guess...

Samara/Morinth (assuming Morinth has power equal to mommy)
Jack (close second)
Liara
Adept-Shep (much weaker than Liara)
Kaidan (close to 4th)
Miranda (she had genetic improvements that might make her spike higher)
Tie between Jacob, Wrex, Thane

Adept Shepard tries to break a window with a rifle butt rather than biotics. I think her powers have waned over time.

Using biotics is said to be extremely exhausting.

This is why I like to play soldier with a biotic bonus power. She's so great she mysteriously have some level of biotics without implants or training :D.

I miss the feeling of being a tank though. The same soldier that solo'd thresher maws on foot in ME1 struggled to fight one in ME2 ..

Shep may not have the raw power of Samara but considering all the crap put into him, he probably has higher stamina then her.

Yeah, so for Shepard to be using biotics like that would probably impractical.

I don't know about you, but which would you choose? Slowly 'float' to the ground like Samara, or fly across the entire battlefield in the blink of the eye.

Vanguard Shep = Biotic GOD!!!

From what I've seen in terms of gameplay, cutscenes, etc, I would rank the biotics we see in the game as thus: Samara, Jack/Shepard/Liara, Miranda, Kaidan, Jacob.
The reason I list Shepard as powerful as Jack is because gameplay clearly proves that he/she is. If Shepard is a Biotic (whether a sentinel, Vanguard or Adept), he is able to wipe the floor with most other biotics in the game. Samara given her length of experience would be a very hard fight for shepard should he ever have to fight her, but I don't think she's significantly more powerful than him to make it so he wouldn't have a chance.

Shepard continually beats other "powerful," biotics quite handely throughout the games, however. Saren is a powerful biotic, yet Shepard beats him quite handely on both Virmire and the Citadel. Tela Vasir is an incredibly powerful biotic, yet played correctly a Shepard Adept or Shepard Vanguard will absolutely destroy her.

So I would say that Shepard, Jack and Liara are very evenly matched. Jack has the raw power, Liara has the experience and training, and Shepard has a mix of both. More powerful than them would be asari Matriarchs, but little else.

Wrex is actually supposed to be extremely powerful. Biotic krogan are supposed to be basically unstoppable.

Is it stated anywhere specifically that Turians do not produce biotic users? I don't think we've seen a biotic turian at all in the course of the series.

in ME1, Kaiden accidentally killed the Turian who was hired by the Alliance to train the first human biotics. So yes, Turians are well versed in biotics.

the enemies biotics are nerfed though for gameplay reasons so it's kind of hard to compare

if they let the AI use all the same abilities as shep. then you would get destroyed.

Throwing a biotic barrier on top of a triple-redundant nervous/circulatory/digestive system...

Normal Krogan are unstoppable on a good day. A biotic Krogan's a bloody nightmare.

..isn't Kaidan a sentinel? How good is he of a biotic lol I know sentinels have biotic powers (I play as one duhh) but don't they get like mediocre value of both tech and biotic powers?

I dont think its very fair to try and compare human biotics with alien biotics.
All human biotics are made from eezo exposure and require implants to even use their biotics to lift simple objects correctly, let alone use them in combat, while aliens like the asari are natural biotics and dont require implants at all to be deadly.

He is a different type of sentinel than shep. In me1 he was extremely strong with all his powers. Now he is just okay just like everyone else.

Also turian biotics are extremely rare and seen with suspicion by other turian

and saren was a biotic, but that could have been cuz of sovereign, but we may never know

So did Vasir while she healed and Saren hs help on Virmire. Also in Liara's time capsule talk she calls shepared and extreamly talented biotic(or something similer).

Samara being one of the most powerful biotic of the galaxy.

Shep is actually one of the weakest biotic among the crew.

Actually Kaidan mentions that while he does spike higher than most L3s, he says that Shepard is an exception if s/he is a biotic as well. In other words, Kaidan notes that Shepard is stronger than himself.
