The terms "Free" and "Quality" are not mutually exclusive.

Besides, I'm leery of paying for fixes.

I would pay for quality DLC, no question there. But I'd do this for the mass effect universe specifically. This wouldn't be a wise trend for other games to pick up.

This is exactly the problem. It will become a trend.

Think of this situation (customer paying for corporation mistakes) like ...giving a treat to a cute puppy that pooped on the carpet. Sure the puppy is cute, and we love the puppy. But it reinforces the behavior and lets the puppy know it's ok to do that. We do not want to reinforce this kind of behavior. In this analogy, we should not pay for something (give a the puppy a treat) that we already paid for and did not get (the poop on the rug). The puppy now knows that if it poops on the rug, it gets a treat!

If you let companies/corporations know it's ok to mess up and the customer will PAY to see it fixed, it will become a trend...a standard operating procedure, if  you will. Intentional 'mistakes' will happen more frequently in the name of corporation profit (and no I'm not saying Bioware did this intentionally, but talking about future products and even other corporations). And why wouldn't it? If people DO pay for it, it will become a proven profit model.

I don't want to pay for it at all. However, I will pay for the QUALITY ending I was promised originally.

this here is the problem. and this goes for everyone, not just the person im quoting

by telling these guys you are willing to pay them to fix their mistake, you are giving game companies a free pass to purposly screw up their games to be fixed later by DLC that has a price tag

-------

dude above me said the same thing, just a little better, after i posted lol

I'd rather pay for a quality one rather than take a rushed and probably sloppy "fixed" ending, yes.

There's quick, good, and cheap. You can have any two...

If they spend the time and resources making a DLC and it's STILL crappy, then I'm going to cry.

Not of anger or sadness, but of laughter, because that would be completely bonkers.

I'd pay for a DLC either way... it's only fair that way.

I prefer free with quality. That said, I'd probably pay for one if it was good... though Bioware will earn a +10 disapproval from me.

Voice actors are most likely on contracts so no it won't cost for VA.

Bioware isn't CD Projekt Red, ergo I will pay a reasonable fee ($10-15) for a few hours of DLC that properly wraps up ~180 hours of preceding content. Basically, what I paid for the Shadow Broker DLC.

After the butchered ending, quality is what I look for. If I want something cheap I just have to play the last 10 minutes of ME3.

Hnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng. Conflicted I am. On matters of principle I refuse to pay twice for the same thing, or pay once and then pay again to fix a failure (I recently had body work done on my car, if they had botched that you damn well know they would have fixed it for free [and that was their policy anyway]).

But on the other hand if moneys will make it a better ending (say, LotSB quality but probably much shorter <3 ) than it would otherwise be.. Oh god decisions! D: The problem is I would want to wait for other fan reviews after the fact to know if it was good before I would hand over moneys for it, but if I don't promise up front that I would pay over the moneys would that affect their decision and how much effort they put into it?! It's a catch 22!

I guess if it was truly spectacular and cured cancer then I would begrudgingly pay for it, for Marauder Shields may he rest in peace.

Don't expect a free ending DLC or you will be disappointed. The world doesn't work that way. I'm willing and counting on paying for an ending DLC should one be released... If BioWare decides to make it free they become legendary but it won't happen and I'm alright with that, let's be realistic here.

At this point I doubt any free DLC will be possible. I'd rather it cost me money and be of actual quality (matching the rest of the game) than free and little more than another lackadaisical 'slap-on' ending

Quality. Furthermore I'd rather have an expansion than DLC.
