It has to be free!

Bioware fail to complete the game and keep the promise to the consumers. If they have to spend the money to fix the problem and save the faith of the consumers, they have to do it. Bioware/EA are not fool. Today, they set USD 60 the price of the game that means Bioware/EA have evalued the market. This is the reasonable price to make a reasonable profit. And yet, they choose to release an incomplete game and release the first paid DLC at the same day they release ME3. This is not some slapy excues, "We are unable to integrate this DLC into the game on time.", can help them. It is a fully demonstration how greedy are Bioware/EA.

I'm willing to pay because, honestly, I see absolutely no chance of a free DLC.

For me, definitely a quality one where I pay up to $20~$30 for the DLC. I know I'm definitely in the minority, since the game ending should come standard, and no one wants to pay for another person's mistake.

I can definitely echo with those sentiment. However, that still means Bioware would have to pony up the cash for the DLC. From the business perspective, the free DLC would likely to be made as cheap as possible. As a Mass Effect fan, I simply cannot stand the idea that the new ending DLC would potentially not be as good as the one if I chip in a little.

I would rather have a DLC that is both quality and free.

If money is what they need to give the series the ending it deserves, I can part with another ten bucks, sure

I choose quality. If it has multiple endings with various flavour on it, then yes I'd be happy to shell out. Just to make the pain go away >.>

Never going to happen.

Bioware/EA is a business. The only way we get a better ending for ME3 is by convincing the suits that it is in their financial interest to do so. This means voting with your money. It means buying the DLC, but it also means other things, like a boycott of other ME DLC until the endings are fixed. It also means telling Bioware and EA that if the situation is not remedied, we will take our business, and our money, elsewhere.

Fixing the endings really is in the best interest of Bioware and EA, it makes them money in more ways than one. On top of the money they make from the DLC sales, if they play their cards right, they might be able to parlay it into some seriously good publicity about how they really do care about their fans/customers.

The only thing we have to do is help them realize just how much it benefits them to fix the endings.

I would like it to be a free expansion DLC. They should make it as good as one that you would pay $20 for as well. Otherwise, I would rather not have a cheap DLC just because it is free.

Many people seem to be failing to grasp this dichotomy.

If Bioware wants me to pay them more to make this horrible ending go away, that's fine. I'll buy it just because Mass Effect deserves a proper ending.

But I'm done with them after this if they gouge fans out of more money to fix problems that shouldn't have been there in the first place.

I honestly doubt that it is possible to make satisfying multiple endings within the budget of a DLC. Especially one that has to be put together in a short time, while putting plans for other money making DLCs on hold.
The only thing you might expect for free is a comic style explanation similar to the Genesis DLC for ME2.

As I said, if they are smart, they will wrap it all up in a LotSB or bigger sized add-on. Helping to ease some of the burden of paying for the ending that the series warrented by adding several new features, missions, etc...

I would be okay with dropping 10-15 dollars on such a DLC. Though, as my faith in Bioware had already been shaken, I would likely wait for reviews from trusted sources, I.E. not IGN.

I would pay for a quality DLC. However, I'd have to have independent verification of quality before I shelled out even more money for an ME3 product. I mean, presumably the new ending would be made by the same people who made the old ending, and they missed the flaws of the old ending...

In gigolo terms, I'd pay real money to get with a movie star, at the ritz, with a full orchestra and choir singing Mendel's Hallelujah watching me, and the heaven's parted and angels were watching over me as I did it, rather than getting a reach around from a 90 year old toothless grandma in the backshed next to a garbage dump.

Take from it what you will...

When I think with my heart, I want it free, as It shouldn't have been that ending in the first place. But when I think with my head (aka logically) I'd actually rather it be paid. If we pay them for it, they can make it better quality, and while I'll feel bad about it, I'd much rather shell out $15 to have a quality ending, then get a mediocre one for free.

They give us a quality DLC ending with a good deal of content and I'll gladly pay for it. Let's be honest, other than the ending problems, Bioware gave us more than our money's worth with Mass Effect 3. 35 hours of quality single player content is a lot more than you get with most games this day and age. If they are willing to go the extra mile and give us a solid, 100% effort new ending, they can have my money. Mass Effect means that much to me.

Using your head over your heart is usually painful, but also, more often than not, it leads to the correct conclusion.
