To begin, the game astounded me. It was awesome to have all the little nitpicky errands to gain more war assets and talking with people being affected by the war. While seeming a bit forced, the nightmare stuff with the kid struck me emotionally. I hated it because aside from gaming, I work with kids, and a few years back a kid I know died from a virus leaving his other triplets, a mom, and a dad behind. It sucked watching that shuttle get blown up. The stuff with the rest of the team was just phenominal. I've never had any game draw me right in like the ME trilogy. I hated the Mako in 1, but hey, it was still cool flying that thing around off big enough hills.
My biggest beef with the ending, and as you can see I'm pro-indoctrination theory and would love to see something done about the ending, and I believe Bioware is indeed listening, is that it ignored all the choices and effort and time I put into the game and gave everyone the same stock ending of ABC. If there were an add-on that made those ABC choices into something else, something more, something that reflected what paths I'd taken throughout the series, I would have been just in awe of the developers. But to get stuck with the same three endings with all the plot holes people have ranted about just plain hurt. It felt like I got stabbed in the back by a video game.
I, for one, respectfully submit that I am disappointed by the wrap-up of ME3 but as a whole am pleased with the game. The ending, however, makes me feel like I'm accomplishing nothing by replaying the series in the future.
NOTE: Call me naive, but I believe Dr. Muzyka has a point in his article. We need to be respectful and bring up logical points and give feedback, not attack and insult the team. If you can't do that, please do those of us striving to be respectful a favor and go take your anger out on something else.
