With the revelation that Bioware intends to right the wrongs (perceived or not) it has inflicted upon a fair amount of its fan base, I've noticed an uptick in the negative comments, mostly directed at those fans perceived as 'entitled' or 'whiny'.
It's time for the hate to stop, and stop now.
The flaming from both sides does nothing help the people who now need our support the most: Bioware. Why does Bioware need our support? Because in order to properly craft the content that the fans deserve, they need positive, constructive, feedback. Negative comments, flaming, anything deriding the manhood of Bioware employees--none of this helps them in any way to focus on what they need to be focusing on: crafting an extension to an already superb game.
So what if they 'caved' or so what if they allegedly 'tanked on purpose' to sell more DLC? The fact remains that they are in control, they pull the strings, and ultimately, they have decided to give their fans an encore to their masterpiece. If you don't like their decision, then don't lower yourself to the level of the people you just flamed by whining about it. Do you applaud their decision? Great, then support them, hope for more great content, and shut up with the "up yours ending-backers!"
Honestly, who does it help when you fire off comments about how Bioware "sold out to the mob" or by accusing them of "trying to squeeze another dime out of the consumer with incomplete products"? Does feeding your ego stop them from making the new content? Does it make them code stuff faster?
C'mon people, the wonderful team that crafted this beautiful realization of a game we call ME3 are humans too. They have feelings. Just like the incredible myriad of players that have all joined in to experience the epic journey of a hero named Shepard. Stop the hate.
And if you need a good laugh: http://social.biowar.../index/10031116
Both sides, it's time to stop the hate.
