Sorry OP. I didn't mean to start a Firestorm by mentioning Sun Tzu's Art Of War. It's just that when dealing with people in general I always use it as a guide to spot deception among other things.
The topic at hand was just as inane as you talking about The Art of War in relation to Ray Muzyka. I sincerely hope he's reading this right now and having a good laugh at your expense.

The nature of Sun-Tzu, huh? I think we're getting a little far-afield, at least in regards to ME3. Is this thread about the game, or merely an opportunity for @Reptilian Rob to stand "in death ground" and challenge all comers?

What if Ray Muzyka simply disagrees with people who hate the ending but is of course willing to come up with something so that both sides can be happy? Remember, not everyone feels the same way about the game and its ending. As the CEO of Bioware, Muzyka does not wish to alienate any player if at all possible. But there are people out there who hate the ending and would not settle for anything less than getting their way and there is just not much anyone can do about that.
He seems like a nice guy, but that statement was all over the place. I was promised differenet endings, not one ending with Skittles.

Consumers such as you are the reason for a depletion of the gaming industry. What you are saying is take everything they give us without question and if you don’t like it you’re not supposed to say anything. The Gaming
companies are selling us a mass produced product. We are entitled to speak up when something is bad such
as the ending. If we don’t question and just except everything as is, it will lead to further deterioration.
Take a car company for example; they mass produce a vehicle that is for the most part great quality, except for that faulty breaking system they developed because they were rushed. Now people began to crash their vehicles and they complain about it (They enjoyed 99% of that vehicle right up until that crash at the end).
Do you think other consumers and the companies tell these people to hush up and just accept their product and belittle them if they don’t? No, they issue recalls, they look at what went wrong, and sometimes they make a model change. However by your logic we should just accept the fact that our vehicle has faulty brakes and we should just keep quiet about it and go away.
100% this. The purpose of a gaming company is to put out quality games and make a profit doing so. What I got from that letter was Art > Promised Quality.

You're missing the point.
It's not about liking the ending.
It's about an incomplete product.
Do you demand proof from meor will you just believe multiple developers promised us the end would be almost exactly the opposite of what it is? We were mislead.
Don't trust me, just read the link below. I don't want to post it all again.

For the record, again. I thought the incomplete ending was brilliant! Warning your players for 3 games how indoctrination happens, then giving them bells and whistles warning them it's happeneing, and they STILL choose to indoctrinate themselves. It's freaking brilliant! It just left everything unresolved and we were promised would be with our multiple endings.

But guess we'll see what they'll try to pawn on us come April - but the longer Bioware waits to fix the mess, the less likely it is that the disillusioned and disfranchised fans will buy into it and just move on to other games and spend their money elsewhere than on Bioware
'Artistic integrity' or not. If people don't like your 'art' or you deliver 'art' that vastly contradicts what you said you would deliver - people don't buy it..

At this point I don't think any party benefits from over-analyzing what the other is saying. They know why we're mad. They'll fix it or they won't. I'm not interested in PR grabs or explanations or anything. I already fully get that they like what they made. It's not terribly relevant to the discussion. I don't think a whole lot of triple A games come out of the pipe with the team feeling like they just ruined the series.
When they change it, if they change it, I'll be back to see what they did. Otherwise, I'll just move on. That's all we can do as fans, aside from donate to charity.
Yeah, I agree. I'm giving them a chance to fix the incomplete product before I move on. If they don't, that's it. It's the same procedure I'd follow if I was buying anything else. It will be a sad day, "Thanks for all the fish!" and what not, but there's no point in supporting a company that wants us to subsidize its artistic vision instead of providing us with the product we originally sought and were promised.

Not everyone feel that it's incomplete neither. There are plenty of people who liked the way it ended and didn't feel the need to see anymore. Some even feel strongly in not being told exactly what the cannon outcome would be for every single decision in the game. They are paying customers and deserve to be recognized too. The point is people will disagree on this issue no matter what, and you can't expect a CEO of a company to only make statements catered to one camp or the other.Tyrzun wrote...

Props for the Merlin pick. Excalibur is still the best "Kind Arthur" movie by far.
Let's hope Rey goes back to OLD Rey. The one that said he makes games for gamers, not the one who is in it to make "art" and go against his customers. We can hope.
