It seems like nothing will make the community happy. No matter what they do, it won't be enough. They'll want more and more.

They all want a fairytale ending when its the end of the freaking world. Cause that's logical, right?

Well this is certainly not the last thread of this kind. I'd love to see the long faces of the people who organized the Retake thing should the ending be rewritten, in a manner they did not expect.

Troll harder.
You think this outcry would be there if the ending didn't suck?

You are just trying to use the same tired slippery slope argument parroted out by every other person who doesn't think the fans of the series have the right to hold Bioware accountable to the statements they made pre-release. Instead of forming a logical counter to our position you try to frame the argument based upon some sensationalist precedent that this will create.  You don't actually have anything to back up your position.

It's been proven by many people posting that no matter what they do. They will complain about something else. If they have to pay for DLC, IF they do get a new ending, it won't be good enough.

You can't say that I'm wrong. Maybe for some, yeah, they'll like it, but most won't.

Yep. Pretty much proves that no matter what, anti-ending people can't let anyone say anything positive. Even though you guys get the whole boards to post what YOU think.

There is a hierarchy for me here, and rewriting the ending, or using something like the Indoctrination Theory to overwrite it is definitely my best case scenario. The next best thing would be more options, some where Shep has a backbone again, then slightly altered outcomes based readiness and choices, and the then the least desireable (but still better than nothing) outcome which would be just some closure.

It's kinda sad too because the OP's post was actually interesting to read even though I think the endings are still crap, but Narf and friends swoop on this stuff like flies on **** and start attacking everyone who isn't pro ending.

Listen, a lot of the "pro-ending" guys seem a lot more like "haters" and trolls to me than most of us (ironic, isn't it?). They're just being contrarians for the hell of it, it's human nature disliking people who "protest" something because if you don't agree it makes you feel like they're taking some kind of high-ground and it gives you and involontary inferiority complex. As I've already said, I've been a vegetarian and it's full of people who'll get in face about not eating meat just because even if you don't say a word to them about it and mind your own business they instictively feel like you're trying to take moral superiority. Of course the scale and stakes are different, here the field is more intellectual than moral (that's why the love the "art" defense cause it makes them flip the sides), but I think the human instict is just that one, the "who do they think they are!" automatic defense that our brains have, and only very very rational and self-aware people manage to detect it and shut it when it activates. So when they just insist on trying to provoke you just don't fall for it and don't try to reason, it's useless.
I'm not saying all, some are sincere and engaging and well, a small group, the worst trolls, are really BioWare fanatics, but I think a lot just feel that.

Actually a few of them made some interesting points, but when the discourse tends to get somewhat interesting the trolls descend and start tossing the buzzwords and insults around.

The majority though are usually troll posts fishing for flames.

I want a different ending(s) altogether, because I think that Joker and the squadmates that were on earth with me suddenly appearing on some tropical planet is major league BS. They were fighting. They wouldn't leave my ass at the last second and hit a relay. I'm not even going to get into my issues with the starchild or the old guy telling some story at the end.

Adding more BS onto the current ending, will not in any way make it better.

LOL i know your trolling but I laughed at that one

Its been "proven" that most people will hat the DLC ending. Hear that guys...somehow this person claims this has been "proven" when nothing has actually been done yet and they wonder why people might suspect them of trolling.....

Cant say that your wrong? Wrong about what? Claiming we will hate a DLC that isnt out yet?

Yeah we cant be satisfied...that Shadow Broker DLC...no one liked that or anything...

The announcement that BW makes in April, I believe, will divide the anti-ending fan base.  Some will be happy and some will still be upset.  Their future direction for the game, I believe, isn't going to sit well with everyone.

As Dr. Ray implied in his blog post, it seems that the current endings are staying as is, but that they're going to add additional content to explain them and plug up plot holes.

It wasn't an attack, it was a statement of fact. As evidenced by the actions of people on the forums today STILL not being satisfied after Dr. Muzyka's statement. People demanded that the DLC be free, that BioWare match the Child's Play donations, that BioWare give them a pony... okay, that last one was me, but still.

No matter what BioWare gives you, you. Will. Not. Be. Satisfied.

It's not an attack, it's not forcing opinions down your throat, it's just the cold, hard truth.
