God I feel so bad. I couldn't decide what was worse. Her seeing the ending, or her playing the game and telling me that I was overreacting. She genuinely believed that the story would tie together and the end would be as epic as the other 99% of the series.

I did get to tell her "I told you so" though. That and I have someone to share my frustration with now. We're both holding out for a new ending and we will be donating to Child's Play to show our support.

Edit: We were HUGE Bioware fans too. She has bought me an N7 mug and a jacket. I gave her my N7 sweatshirt. Hell we met because I walked into her work one night while wearing my Cerberus ballcap and N7 sweatshirt. Our 1-year anniversary was on the release date of ME3. I got her the Collector's Edition for that...

It feels more personal that Bioware ended the game like that now that I think about it. I won't let it sour the memories that I have with her, but damn... That was our thing.

Glad she came to the same conclusion about the ending like most of us have.

I am similar experience with my friends. It's one thing to experience it yourself, but it's worse to see others to go through it.

It's always amazing to see how foreknowledge really is no preparation for how terrible it actually is.

Sorry you guys had to go through that.

I remember when my boyfriend warned me about how bad the ending was. I didn't want to believe him, asking him NOT to spoil what was to come. As soon as I finished it, I had to call him immediately to vent all of my nerdrage.

It probably would have been a worse experience if I wasn't at least kind of expecting it. I still felt massive disappointment, though. Even being prepared I couldn't have expected that kind of ending.

I'm pretty sure you should avoid the "I told you so" and just offer sympathy hugs. You never know where sympathy hugs might lead...

She sat in silence, while staring at the "Buy Moar Stuff" prompt. Then she started getting so frustrated that she was starting to tear up. Then as I was walking her out to my car, she started yelling about how the ending was bs.

My reaction was more muted. I just glossed over and came directly here. That was about a week ago. I can't play the singleplayer game anymore. I just keep thinking "what's the point?" everything just goes to hell no matter what I do.

Just imagine how fast the breakup would have been if she enjoyed the endings.

Yeah, worst thing about this. You want to warn your friends but dont want to ruin entire experience for them. Most people wont believe you anyway before seeing it themselves.

Seriously. I knew exactly what was going to happen. No exagerations. Full spoilers, full detail. Knew it was stupid.

But you just can't "know" how it feels to have nothing resolved.

Tell your wife I said sorry.

And, I'll tell you sorry.

Let's hope some kids get to play Mass Effect while it was in it's brilliance.

To clarify, she was making fun of me for how I felt about the ending. I wanted to warn her at first, but she mocked me. I love her to death, but the "I told you so" was my polite response.

I gave her sympathy hugs later. I went through that ordeal alone. I didnt want her to go it alone like I did.
