Good thing she didn't like the ending. You would have had to break it off.

You told her "I told you so", that was just wrong.

Maybe so. My exact words were more like "I told you, I warned you... Its bad, isn't it?" Previously, she had written off the whole controversy as overreactions, both on my part and online. I would've preferred she actually liked the ending honestly. Even thought that would mean we disagreed about the issue.

Your girlfriend is tough, I started wailing when the credits rolled in :crying:

She really is. She even resolved it with herself that Shepard died after Harbinger attacked Hammer team on the way to the relay, and the Normandy on the new Earth was simply them in heaven. She concluded that the Catalyst was a hallucination before her death that took the form of her boy as a result of her cracking under the immense pressure.

Then I told her about Indoc Theory.

God I feel so bad. I couldn't decide what was worse. Her seeing the ending, or her playing the game and telling me that I was overreacting.

You might want to fix this part?

My friend told me he'd heard about how bad it was and didn't even want to finish the game at that point. I was like, "...Trust me, dude. Just do it. You just can't appreciate it until you see it for yourself."

And lo and behold, he came back later in total agreement.

Nothing to fix. Before she finished the game, she repeatedly told me that there was no way Bioware would make a bad ending but I assured her that they did... Its unfortunate that it took until after she played the ending that she finally believed me.

So since Mass Effect was your thing, and that's ruined now, does that mean the wedding's off?

Thanks! You can copy it if you'd like.

Nope. I love her too much to do that now. Besides, the honeymoon is in Hawaii. I'm not passing that up either.

Edit: We were HUGE Bioware fans too. She has bought me an N7 mug and a jacket. I gave her my N7 sweatshirt. Hell we met because I walked into her work one night while wearing my Cerberus ballcap and N7 sweatshirt. Our 1-year anniversary was on the release date of ME3. I got her the Collector's Edition for that...

How sweet

I had the same experience with my husband. We are both massive BW/ME fans. I finished the game before him and when he asked how I felt about it, I told him I wasn't saying a word until he finished it himself. When he did the look on his face broke my heart. And then we just went drinking. At least we both had someone to talk to about it!

Every day that goes I feel happier that I managed to stop my freinds from buying this game.
Damned waste of money.

What sorcery is this? Retake ME3 Members don't have spouses, your all whiny entitled children dontcha know, being adult human beings with relationships and careers and aspirations just doesn't fit.

2) You two met because you were wearing N7 stuff? 8[ Okay now I'm depressed, I'm going to start wearing MY N7 stuff in the hope some guy spots it ;)

It kinda pains me knowing people are just discovering the horror as I am still dealing with it two weeks after. Good luck to all.

Gah, at least you have someone to share your sorrows with, I've got to wallow in mine alone, coz apparently ME3 isn't popular here.

It's always amazing to see how foreknowledge really is no preparation for how terrible it actually is.

Sorry you guys had to go through that.

Seriously. I knew exactly what was going to happen. No exagerations. Full spoilers, full detail. Knew it was stupid.

But you just can't "know" how it feels to have nothing resolved.

Especially if you played the entire trilogy.  I don't think the full magnitude of how bad that ending is can be truly understood unless you have.

My husband and the BSN are my only links to ME fandom.  Don't feel bad.

One of my best friends called me up on the phone today. Guy hasnt really played any games since college, except for mass effect. He has a week off after finishing a big project at work, and he's buying an xbox so he can play all 3 games back to back. tried to say something, and he responded 'shut up! This is going to be the greatest game ever and Im NOT going to let you ruin it for me" He even hung up on me to avoid spoilers. Its like watching a train wreck

You MUST report back to us when he's finished.
