I am similar experience with my friends. It's one thing to experience it yourself, but it's worse to see others to go through it.

This one goes right up there with the "Yo dawg I heard you don't wanna be killed by synthetics" one.

To the OP, at least you guys can comfort each other.  I don't have anybody to rage to, myself. :pinched:

One of my best friends called me up on the phone today. Guy hasnt really played any games since college, except for mass effect. He has a week off after finishing a big project at work, and he's buying an xbox so he can play all 3 games back to back. tried to say something, and he responded 'shut up! This is going to be the greatest game ever and Im NOT going to let you ruin it for me" He even hung up on me to avoid spoilers. Its like watching a train wreck

You MUST report back to us when he's finished.

You have to just let him experience it.  The ending to ME was very personal for me, and I'm sure many others. I made sure to play it alone.

But yes, you must definitely report back.

What was the first thing she said when she finished?

She sat in silence, while staring at the "Buy Moar Stuff" prompt. Then she started getting so frustrated that she was starting to tear up. Then as I was walking her out to my car, she started yelling about how the ending was bs.

My reaction was more muted. I just glossed over and came directly here. That was about a week ago. I can't play the singleplayer game anymore. I just keep thinking "what's the point?" everything just goes to hell no matter what I do.

How much yelling, exactly?  :huh:

@Schrijver
She romanced Kaiden. She's had a thing for him since ME1

@Goblinsapper
Its amazing, isn't it? Its like we're human beings...

@Skeejee
Sounds like Peete is interested!

Edit: I did watch that video and it sure makes a helluva lot more sense than the current ending does. I'm gonna show it to her tonight.

Oh and I'm sure you'll bump into someone like that if you're in your N7 gear... I did, completely out of the blue, in a town that I knew nobody.

@Peete
Potential romance option? <nudge nudge>

@sOUZUKEN
I can sympathize. I guess I should count my blessings.

@Balmung31
She yelled for about 5 minutes outside at 10pm. I'm sure my neighbors were wondering what the hell was going on.

God I feel so bad. I couldn't decide what was worse. Her seeing the ending, or her playing the game and telling me that I was overreacting. She genuinely believed that the story would tie together and the end would be as epic as the other 99% of the series.

I did get to tell her "I told you so" though. That and I have someone to share my frustration with now. We're both holding out for a new ending and we will be donating to Child's Play to show our support.

Edit: We were HUGE Bioware fans too. She has bought me an N7 mug and a jacket. I gave her my N7 sweatshirt. Hell we met because I walked into her work one night while wearing my Cerberus ballcap and N7 sweatshirt. Our 1-year anniversary was on the release date of ME3. I got her the Collector's Edition for that...

It feels more personal that Bioware ended the game like that now that I think about it. I won't let it sour the memories that I have with her, but damn... That was our thing.

ohh no man, this is not contructive, this is destructive. you shouldnt say tstuff like this here man. :P

How can you tell that people are crying. You're the only one here that you can see... Unless you're the one who's crying. Yep, that must be it!

I said it's a crying thread, where people come to complain. Not that they were actually crying.

I've been warning my friend Beryl since I finished about the ending being bad.  He won't believe me...

Actually the biggest reaction I keep getting (since I am known for both getting games YEARS after they came out and taking forever to finish them) is "You finsihed it already?"

Here's me being happy that my lady's a city-building addict, and doesn't have to suffer through indignities like the ending of Mass Effect 3.

Here's me suffering her indignant looks whenever I punch holes into nearby objects for reasons she doesn't understand - and has admitted she never wants to understand, either, because "games are supposed to be fun".

Life's odd.

This one at least makes subjective sense.

The other one just is just blatant lies.

So far it's been a thread where people come together and show sympathy towards one another.

These aren't the people you're looking for. Crying threads are usually quite aptly labeled things like "OMG BIOWARE" or "I hate everything and everyone here!"

A year, yes. Sometimes you just know. Call it whatever you like... Chemistry I guess. We just click.
