Greetings

I just started playing DA2 about 5 weeks ago. I noticed on my second playthrough that neither of these skill upgrades were copying the new descriptions when upgraded, from the base skill. I was wondering if it is working as intended still (copy bug), or do I have a gameplay bug there and it won't work in upgraded form at all?

Anyone else having this problem? I have no clue if it worked prior to Patch 1.04. I only had the game for 2 weeks before that came out. I started watching other skills from the different characters, and so far no other problems except those two. Thanks if anyone can help me out here, I would like to take them, but I haven't due to uncertaintly if they are working, or not.

Just the ability tooltip is not showing it. The skills still function as intended.

Thank you SuicidalBaby, I did a scan here on the search forums to see if it was a listed copy, or play bug but didn't get any anything. I was almost sure it was just me. I really wanted to use backlash for staggers, thanks.

Two questions for you, if I may take a little more of your time? I didn't realize you were still active here on the boards, I was surprised (you) answered me.

1. In my second playthrough I used a Duel-wield Hawke Rogue. I controlled him 95% of the time. So I had no trouble doing 5-10 basic attacks with explosive chain, then moving into explosive strikes. I just bought the DLC with Sebastian, I cannot figure out how to use that in tactics set-up, then I realized the same holds true for Isabela, without manual control. How would I utilize that in tactics, or should I even bother?

2. In your time playing this game did you ever notice any effect from stacking drops more equipment items? And is there any effect if there on more than one active party member, with them? Sometimes I had multiple pieces and would not sell them off after they were obsolete, just to use them before a first-time zone-in. I couldn't find anything here on the boards referring to that, other than stacking money drop items and how they work.

Thanks again!

enemies drop better equipment does stack. so you will want to keep those pieces, have them on prior to entering any zone for the first time or when killing valuble targets you can kill easily. The stat basically adds a +1 to your level when calculating creature drop tables. so with 3 pieces with the stat equipped the drops in a zone/creatures when you're lvl 15 will be lvl 18 according to the loot tables. 90% of the loot is random. So if you create a save prior to a fight, you can reload that encounter if you do not like the loot you got from it.  99% of enemy drops are not calculated until they die, the coin you pick up is not affected by RoF until you pick it up.

From the Compendium:

Isabella :
Designed to be hands free.

Stats :
Respec immediately so you can deal with locks and traps.
20 cunning - first thing
24 dex - req for Arm of Adruil & Cruel Dagger
28 dex - to keep attack % proper
30 cunning - req for complex traps in Deep Roads
40 cunning asap into act 2
44 cunning by act 3
dex should be high enough for 70% crit before Valiant Aura & Unforgiving Chain
Then pump cunning and con 2:1 till 20ish con after items.
then 2:1 dex/cunning till end

Build :

1. Backstab (default)
2. Stealth (default) - Respec to Back-to-Back
3. Evade (default) - Respec to Blindside
4. Unforgiving Chain
5. Explosive Strike
6. Perforate
7. Twin Fangs
8. Invisible Friend
9. Precision
10. Reverse Grip
11/12. Respec just before Deep Roads

Respec:
1. Unforgiving Chain
2. Explosive Strike
3. Backstab
4. Merciless Strike
5. Twin Fangs
6. Reverse Grip
7. Blindside
8. Back-to-back
9. Across the Bow
10. Savvy
11. Experienced Hand
12. Invisible Friend
13. Sea Legs
End Act 1

14. Follow-Through
15. All Hands on Deck
16. Brand
17. Shore Leave
18. Murder
19. Perforate
20. Armistice
21. Goad
+22. all you

Tactics :

self: hp <25%: Health Poultice
enemy: attacking Isabela: use current condition for next tactic
Avaline: any: Back-to-back
enemy: STAGGERED: use current condition for next tactic
enemy: elite or higher: Explosive Strike
enemy: elite or higher: Twin Fangs
enemy: normal or higher: Twin Fangs
enemy: attacking Hawke: Backstab
enemy: attacking Anders: Backstab
Isabela: being attacked by melee or ranged: use current condition for next tactic
Aveline: any: Goad
self: surrounded by 4 enemies: All Hands on Deck
Anders: being attacked by melee: Armistice
Hawke: being attacked by melee: Armistice
self: stamina: <10%: Stamina Draught
enemy: attacking Anders: Attack
enemy: attacking Hawke: Attack
enemy: attacking Avaline: Attack
self: at least one enemy is alive: skip tactics
self: any: deactivate Savvy*

*simply encase I turn it on

If you are not using a warrior, base the ability off just rank rather than STAGGER and keep it in front of other abilities on the list. Sebastion's doesn't carry the same value as his wounding arrow and IMO should be left by the side of the road as the 2 of them together would reduce the improved value to such a degree that neither of them would be worth much, especially from tactics as there is no control for the combo set off the chain. Isabela's tactics will naturally allow the chain to be used at the right time most of the time.
