BIG decisions made in ME 1 & 2 are made meaningless in ME3. (And not just because of the ending)

um, are you surprised? When has the series ever shown your choices had an impact? Ever?

Yes I was surprised! If you didn't do loyalty missions your squadmates died. There is 1 impact right there

In ME1 & 2 the choices you made about your squadmates, what you did with the Collector Base, Whether or not you saved the Rachni Queen, Saved or killed the Council... All were building up to ME3 and how all these choices actually meant something.

They aren't meaningless.

Conrad finally remembered that I didn't shove a gun in his face during ME 1!

But I apparently didn't get credit for getting all the Asari writings because I didn't buy an Elkoss Combine license X_X Seriously who buys that crappy license? The only license worth buying is the one to get Colossi armor. No one who played the game more than once would have ever purchased any license other than the license for Colossus armor. So why wasn't that the license they chose?

WTF???
How can you say that there is no reason for the decisions from ME 1& 2 not to excist?

The collector base is a HUGE decision and so is the Rachni Queen...
Come on if your going to make a game where your saves from the last game can be brought over to the next game. And even at the start of that next game it tells you all the major decisions you have made in the last games, they should've had more impact!!
Especially If people from your company (Bioware) have publicly stated so!!!!

Right and those decisions you stated there had more impact on gameplay then the decision about the Collector Base and the Rachni Queen...

Does that sound right to you??

I have to admit, even the minor decisions didn't really have that much payoff really, they all happened offscreen.

Rana Thanoptis: Spared twice. Dies.
Aresh: Performs heroic last stand. Dies.
Kal'Reegar: Last stand. Dies.

While you do get some emails from Zhu's Hope etc, overall, everything you've done over the past 2 games really gets just thrown away in passing dialogue that doesn't impact the story.

During the mission with Grunt, wouldn't it have been so much better to have the chance to save Charr and the choice to get him home to his Blue Rose of Illium? You caused them to get married in the last game, this would have been a greater win if you made him survive, and a greater loss if you failed.

The big decisions I agree fared no better overall and actually, even the dialogue in some places suffered from this. The Rachni Queen seems to be totally indifferent to Shepard for some reason, when really the dialogue should have been more like;

"You saved us on Noveria. We've remembered you and your song. Help us once more. Please."

Instead she simply demands you release her. No recognition. No pleading in her tone. The last time she was resigned to the fact I might kill her with acid. Now she's screaming  "Release us!". What happened to you, Rachni Queen?
