Or they wanted to show off how artistic his head looks like the whole time.

To be only slightly fair, they aren't very consistent with "helmet" treatment for most of the squadmates, I've been to some nasty places over the 3 games with my squadmates showing up with something that looks like simple mask that only covers the nose and mouth.

My guess is it's on the long list of things Bioware would've included if they had another 6 months to a year like they needed. Instead EA just said "anything not finished is DLC. Also a few things that are finished will be DLC." Bioware was going to cry, but then EA handed them all the money. The end.

Because he's Javik.

It can actually happen with the human squad-mates as well with some of their alternate costumes. So I think it's mostly just the fact that BioWare derped and overlooked it.

How does Liara pull it off, too?

She wears that tiny piece of transparent plastic over her face. What the hell is that?

Because Protheans have evolved over thousands and thousands of years to adapt to their most lethal weapon:

The Airlock.

It's a rebreather mask, the human body (and I would assume Asari) is actually sealled quite tight and can actually survive in a vaccum. There is none of this exploding eye balls and such if you walk out into space because there is no pressure in space to make that happen.

Here is some nasa research into it - http://imagine.gsfc....ers/970603.html

Jarvik I would say has evolved to the point (due to them probably being space fairing for a long time) to the point where they can effectively decided not to breath if the environment isn't able to produce a breathable atmosphere.

But wouldn't it be like the Volus, who live on a high pressure world (equal to 60 atmospheres I believe) stepping around in the Citadel without a suit? Their skin splits open due to the lack of pressure. Space has no air, no pressure so wouldn't we just balloon out painfully?

As for Javik yeah he can just channel his hate of the Reapers into breathable air around his head.

[quote]Read the link in my post. It just doesn't happen. Hollywood lies.

The Volus however, would get the bends and die quickly if he entered a normal pressured atmosphere./quote]

Alright, but it still seems like it's a silly idea for someone like Jack or even Zaeed with his back open helmet to prance around in space since even the minor issues might distract them in combat or something. Eh I just don't look at their heads myself

The Collectors were bug like...
I'm assuming Protheans are as well...

Insects don't breathe through their mouths...
They don't have lungs...

They have pores called spiracles and tubes called tracheae...
These are found along either side of their bodies...

doesn't Jame Vega wear some kind of eye piece instead of a mask when you do the dreadnaught mission? Does he breath through his eye?

By conserving brain power, James Vega can survive for up to three hours without Oxygen...

Yes.... But he actually talks by exhaling air through his mouth, so he has to actually HAVE air to exhale to form those words... Nice try to give a logical answer anyway... Truth be told, Bioware just effed up and cba to put a helmet on'im... The End...:alien:

Javik is a bug. He breathes through diffusion across his exoskeleton. He's probably got a nice supply of oxygen under his suit.

In his cycle, they had evolved the ability to breath in a airless vaccum. Primitive.

Air is too primitive for Javik.
