So, let me first start with a picture i have made on how i reacted when it occured to me there was not going to be any conversation with Harbinger:

Did anyone else feel the same? If not, did you want more conversations with the Reapers? Were you satisfied with just the 1 minute conversation with the Reaper Destroyer on Rannoch? Or do you want more?

I have added a poll to this thread, please vote.

Sovereign was much cooler anyway.

I was seriously expecting lots of Harbinger after I read that codex entry, however we got nothing, more disappointment.

I think there should have been more than one with Harbinger. Palaven, Thessia and Earth(final).

I would have been okay with one encounter that lead to a conversation. Harby just showing up and blasting me just made him even more of a troll to me.

He was the most annoying character in ME2. His lines made the Reapers more goofy than mysterious and menacing. So a final attempt to stop or slow down Shepard before dooming the Reapers would have been nice.

More assuming controls and this hurts you? No.

It would have been nice to hear "This hurts you" right when you get hit by the beam.

Sovereign is a badass but i love Harbinger too. I loved the conversation with him on Arrival DLC.

Badass voice and the things he says.

But we all can agree on we want more Reaper conversations? Right?

Asides from the ending debacle. This was the most disappointing thing in the game for me, How do you spend an entire game(me2) building the coolest enemy in the series up and then not even using him?

Thanks you! Thank you! Thank you!

This is exactly how i feel. Harbinger was THE FACE of the Reapers. He kinda was the voice.

And even the new things Bioware made for him in ME3 didn't ease my expectations either, like the 3 things i mention in my paint picture.

I sure did. I spent all of Mass Effect 2 thinking that Harbinger was the leader of the reapers, so i was almost 100% sure that at the end of ME3 i would have had to confront him somehow. :o
Yet, all i had was a 30 seconds cameo appearence with no dialogue whatsoever, and then.... BAM! Starchild.

I mean, come on! In ME2 Harbinger talks to Shepard so much that is annoying, and in ME3 he says nothing at all?

Agreed, I really hate the hype and buildup with absolutely no payoff.
He became little more than a contrived plot device for the end...

I actually completely forgot about him, he was so non-existant in the 3rd game.

Apparently the voice actor is even credited for other roles, making mute Harbinger a deliberate choice. I guess they overreacted to the comical response to his ME2 combat quotes. A couple of genuine conversations would have added a lot in my opinion. I also feel the Rannoch Reaper had the least imposing voice of the three.

I still don't think Reapers should have spoken at all. Sovereign gets a pass in ME1 because he actually had decent lines. Harbinger was just a joke.

WTF?? :o Did Keith Szarabajka voice other characters/creatures in ME3?? I was looking for his name during the credits in ME3 but did not see his name. :?

Theres only so many times the Reapers can say the same stuff. "we are your salvation", "you dont comprehend" ect. I really didnt think it was needed as a conversation with him wouldn't have added anything else. Plus the circumstances at the beam were different. The time for talk between Shepard and the Reapers was over. Additionally the conversation to come on the Citadel explained more then Harbinger ever could.

I was also disappointed that we didn't get any Harbinger.....he's been trash talkin all the way from dark space, now hes on earth and we don't a show down?! Oh hell no....

The only way I'm buying any dlc, is if it starts when Shepard wakes up, we regroup with our squad, and confront Harbinger for the "end all, be all" battle for the fate of the galaxy...and our decisions/choices decide the fate of each squadmate, species, homeworld and love interest

Man, that was a good suggestion! But i dont like the indoctrination theory, i dont like it at all. Yeeew... But you dont mention it here. Just that Shepard wakes up.

But having a final showdown with Harbinger somehow while on foot or controlling the Normandy would be so satisfying. With a conversation before the fight or after. :o

I wanted to blast harbinger into ****ing oblivion with the rest of the world. I was extremely disappointed that I didn't get that chance.
