Hi, I am in the middle of my second playthrough and was pretty much going to "romance" morrigan.
In my first playthrough I didnt really care too much and soon ahd both morrigan and leliana fighting over me, which was kind of fun ^^
in this playthrough though i cant seem to get morrigan interested in my character. So i went for plemeths grimoire, gave it to her and in the conversation afterwards she told me she wasnt interested because I already had a sweetheart.
The point is I didnt have a relationship with anyone else so this kind of suprised me, I did have very good relationship with leliana (i think between 80 and 90) but i pretty much made it clear to her i was not interested.

my question is, did i do something wrong? are there "flags" i have to hit in earlier conversations? or did i miss something else?

btw as i am allready here, would this be the correct forum to post suggestions/thoughts/criticism?

thanks :)

Approval scores dont mean much for romances... if at any point.. WARM appears, 50 or 100 doesnt matter, romance is over with - friendship track only^

Romance status is INTERESTED / CARE / ADORE / LOVE

I found it hard getting Morrigan to "Interested status" early game (Korcari Wilds - chat), while Leliana i had no probs with.

EDIT: Ive also noticed that at times, under "Neutral status" ....it is hard to tell if you picked the right choices, until I noted her reply dialogue.

"At your command!" = Friendship

"Mmmm" = Romance

Thanks alot! this pretty much answers more than half my question :D
For the other half i guess i have to backtrack to an earlier save *cries

still it does make sense and is better than a pure "approval number" approach

edit: btw i think this may have been influenced by giving to many gifts to early, since i did know which presents everybody likes i just gave them out as i got them freeing up inventory space, I may be wrong though and just overthinking it ^^

btw I am not sure it isnt allready the case but up until now i havent seen anything making me think otherwise,
(and please DON'T tell me if i am wrong :) )
these games (as in DA:O and ME dunno about ME2) should have (a) romance option(s) outside the party

You missed "Adore" there.

As for Morrigan, one sure path to romance is to say the right thing to her when she asks you to look for something for her (the first time).

I think the other opportunity is, if you don't have a current love interest, when she says the "Tis a curious thing" line.  You have to say the right thing there too.

I think some people are running into problems where they don't talk to their companions often enough, or they gain favor too quickly, missing out on key conversations.  There are some things that will only occur during specific favor bands, such as 20-30 range, etc.

Just dumping gifts onto a girl isn't really going to show her that you love her.

LOL - Gifts work for me :D.....

I had that problem today - I had Zev at 100Adore (he is the easiest by far) and I was playing around with FeastDayGifts and Im not sure whether it was because Alistair went through the roof or it was because I overloaded his + factor to sometime like 150 LOL

Lucky I had an old save and could go back and fix it ;) too much tent time to let it go to waste by oh we can just be friends now .... yea right buddy !!! Hahaha

A sure way to get Morrigan interested:
- go to Ozrammar
- buy the golden mirror
- give it to morrigan
- say something like "gift for a beautiful woman"
