 Hi all, I'm new to these forums, but I've been playing Mass Effect since the first game in 2007, and devoted love and attention to more than a dozen different versions of Shepard. I am a lover of well-told stories, and Mass Effect is my personal favourite. However, as most of you know, the end has left an unsatisfactory feeling in many of us at best, and just pure bitterness at worst. Many people like it, but they aren't seeing beyond it. Many people, including those that like the ending, and those that outright hate it, have demonstrated they are incapable of seeing things from a different perspective, which is what I've been trying to do for a few weeks now since I saw the ending myself for the first time.

I have debated, fought, raged with many others on the pros and cons of the ending, but whenever I argued the pros, I had vitriol thrown at me, I was accused of being a BioWare shill etc... the bitterness should not be directed at our fellow gamers. We should be listening to each other, and helping our ideas grow, and learning how to compromise, and when we don't have to compromise. Instead, there is division, venom, and hate from both parties.

Granted, it is likely that those who don't like the ending are in superior numbers, but it is not a verifiable fact considering that over a million copies of the game have been sold, but there are less than a hundred thousand people voicing their displeasure over the ending. The numbers alone would suggest a minority, but these are details - unfortunately, the devil is in the details, and we as players have lost perspective.

So, for the last few weeks, I've devoted my attention to players opinions myself - I've observed many perspectives from many players, and I've considered it all and come up with what I believe would be a suitable compromise. I wrote it all out, taking fresh input at various stages and rewriting things, and I believe that what I've come up with will be generally considered as an acceptable compromise for the ending, and I wrote it all down as coherently as possible on my blog, http://immaletyoufin...s-effect-3.html
