Could you please state your point without insulting anyone? That way people will at least consider it.

So, if I sell you a car that states in writing (and by me telling you to your face) that it has a V8 engine, you pay for it, and then you get home and discover it only has a V4 engine, you would be an "entitled whiner" if you try to get the problem resolved?  I mean, it does get you from Point A to Point B, so you really shouldn't complain.  If you can honestly look at this thread...

social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/355/index/10405204/1

and tell me that what they promised us (in many cases after the game was already gold and thus locked in) is what they delivered, then I might be more willing to give your post credence.

1) Be remotely respectfull and stop trolling please.
2) These promises that people feel were broken are well documented. I suggest you look them up before making a statement such as this.
(FTR, I never demanded change and do not fall in this category because I have from day one expected there was more. However if I had learned this was truly the end then I probobly would fall into this category so I can certainly understand both sides.)

okay, so, many of the retakers are contiously talking about how they're not entitled,  & i don't want to generalise a very large group of people.

but if people keep talking about their rights as consumers (as many of you do) & about the so-called lies of the company, you really do come across as entitled little brats. maybe it's my leftist political outlook, but i can't help but think of you as the exact sort of people who'd vote for ron paul.

you speak as though spending some money on a piece of creative fiction gives you the absolute right to determine its fate & if that does not confirm your expectations because of some half-assed marketing spiel, your human rights have in some way been breached.

give it a break. honestly, just stfu.

now, i'm not against the notion of a creative work being changed. i've stated on many occasions that it's great that games can be changed after the fact. don't accuse me of thinking otherwise. nor do i think the mass effect trilogy is a work of art. incidentally, i don't believe games are an art form. (not all narratives, not everything that is beautiful, not all works of creativity are considered works of art.)

but i'm not going to sit here & complain because the creative work did not match my expectations, irrespective of what a company told me beforehand.

imagine a brattish kid gets promised something for christmas & doesn't get what they want— do they threaten to sue their parents? no, they throw out all the toys from their cots. which is exactly what many of you are doing. it's unbecoming of adults to behave in this way.

This.

Also, Mr. Stanley Woo is needed here.

Please review the public press statements made by ranking Bioware employees. These statements constitute a verbal agreement as to what will be included in their final product. If any of these statements were not proper, a statement to recind said statement had to be made as to fairly represent the product in which was being released to the public.

So your opinion is that consumers should "just stfu" about a product they bought? That is the complete opposite of what makes a capitalist market better. If I was silent about my anger and dissatisfaction I am doing BW and all game developers a disservice by letting a sub par product go by and not be critiqued.

Your argument boils down to "suck it up, you're wrong to tell a company when they screwed up". No, that's completely untrue, and disregards game development's entire existence.

A game is made, critiques are made on how to improve it, new game comes out, game critiqued, if we listen to you and refuse to critique something products won't improve

We were promised several things regarding the ending and we paid money for a product with these promises in mind and the product fails to deliver on all of these promises, no it even goes right against many of the promises Bioware made.

On a different note: If someone thinks that people "deserve" insults, I have a clear idea who's the jackass here.....

First of, insulting people is a pretty pointless behaviour, especially if your trying to tell people to act "mature"... investing time to create a thread on forums to insult people doesnt seem mature, but w/e.

Also, you have to explain to me how trying to hold a company to their promises is childish. No, I dont support lawsuits, its pointless and foolish. But I do support a somewhat vocal community that tells a company that they dont think they delivered on their promise and, as Id like to point out, are willing to PAY for the company to hold their initial promise.

Also, theres a difference between a child not getting what it wants for christmas and a costumer not getting what he was promised: The costumer PAID for it. Hes entitled to get what he was promised, because he spent MONEY on it. If I pay someone to make a picture of my dog and he paints my cat instead I will most certainly not see why I should pay him for that. Id probably still buy the picture because I love my cat but Id expect a picture of my dog as well.

I actually agree with the commenters. While I agree that they have no right to demand them change the game, I think your point would be better received if you weren't so... insulting.

It kind of kills your credibility.

no, they didn't. you built up a vision of what you were getting & it didn't meet your expectations. big deal.

Go read their post gold interview and then we can discuss.

A leftist troll is still a troll. Learn a bit about capitalism...take a class...read some established articles....become informed. Stop acting like the very thing your troll-ish topic title is claiming others of being.

Nobody is forcing anybody to do anything. If Bioware makes any changes, that's entirely their own decision. Fans are simply voicing their displeasure, and making sure Bioware is aware that there's probably a lot of money to be found in making something they'd be really, really happy to buy. How can you get mad at that?

This isn't a matter of people getting "outraged" and violent towards bioware staff (there are a remote few who have gone a bit to far over the ending) but you'll find a majority of the forum users are just seeking compensation for false advertising...while I'm against some of the practices people have taken up to get bioware to modify the game (when they were going to bring out other DLC crap anyways) I am in favour of a stronger ending.....So this thread is irrelevant and pointless.
