LOOK AT DA KITTY~!
Way more interesting than the OP.
But, just so this isn't simply spam: You do realize that this is what society has made us, right? Well, the industry would like us to be mindless consumers, but we are still consumers. Saying that we hate something and voting with our money because something is bad in many ways makes us responsible consumers and shows the industry they can't do whatever they want because we won't buy things of bad quality (there's CoD, but ignore that for now).
Also, what's with the Ron Paul thing? Alright, if you bring it up: I'd never vote Republican. Have you ever LISTENED to those presidential candidates? They're all dicks. Obama isn't a fantastic president either, but at least I think one can excuse that with naivity.
It would make me glad to live in Germany if it wasn't the same kind of mess here.
However, that's beside the point.
Being critical is a good thing when it comes to something that has significant flaws. Period. That doesn't make us entitled or jackasses. If you think otherwise: Never complain if something you bought doesn't live up to your standards and to what was advertized. Never. Because that would make you one of us.

okay, so, many of the retakers are contiously talking about how they're not entitled, & i don't want to generalise a very large group of people.
but if people keep talking about their rights as consumers (as many of you do) & about the so-called lies of the company, you really do come across as entitled little brats. maybe it's my leftist political outlook, but i can't help but think of you as the exact sort of people who'd vote for ron paul.
you speak as though spending some money on a piece of creative fiction gives you the absolute right to determine its fate & if that does not confirm your expectations because of some half-assed marketing spiel, your human rights have in some way been breached.
give it a break. honestly, just stfu.
now, i'm not against the notion of a creative work being changed. i've stated on many occasions that it's great that games can be changed after the fact. don't accuse me of thinking otherwise. nor do i think the mass effect trilogy is a work of art. incidentally, i don't believe games are an art form. (not all narratives, not everything that is beautiful, not all works of creativity are considered works of art.)
but i'm not going to sit here & complain because the creative work did not match my expectations, irrespective of what a company told me beforehand.
imagine a brattish kid gets promised something for christmas & doesn't get what they want— do they threaten to sue their parents? no, they throw out all the toys from their cots. which is exactly what many of you are doing. it's unbecoming of adults to behave in this way.
From how I see it, I use the "Consumer" arguement for one simple reason, They have said from the very begining that this is as much our story as it is theirs. Dr. Muzyka even said this in his last statement. Now I have a feeling that alot of your argument stems from those that have filed at the FTC and BBB about the Game. I do beleive that they have gone a bit over board with this and it makes alot of the fans just look bad in doing so. But as a person that had just spent $80 on a product, when asked by the company what I thought of it, I will be more then happy to tell them.
as to your last comment, if the kid paid for the item in question then it was not recived, I would expect some reaction but again I beleive that a lawsuit is overboard. I would compare this more to going to a fine resturant and ordering a nice piece of steak but instead of reciving what you order from the menu, you in turn recieved a piece of Halibut. You still got the meal, but it wasnt what you were expecting.

Did you have to pay your parents for the presents? If your parents bought you a GI Joe Battleset but in the package was Barbies dreamhouse, would you have prevented them from going to the shop where they bought it with the words "don't do it, you're entitled brats, wahwah"?

I don't think we are in any sense what the OP postulates.

This is a bad analogy. The kid didn't pay for his own christmas gift.

Go to any site like Amazon, Gamestop, Newegg, etc etc and every product allows for user reviews.
Why is it okay for customers to offer their opinions on all other types of products but apparently you feel it is not okay to offer our opinions or voice our displeasure for this game?

You get more flies with honey.
And being one that 100% supports the ending, you're making yourself look bad. Just sayin.
Acting this way is proving to them that we're all like you, and we're not. Simmah down, son.

By your "logic", any time I buy something and it's broke, I should just "stfu" and throw more money at the manufacturer in the hopes I get a working one.
