okay, so, many of the retakers are contiously talking about how they're not entitled, & i don't want to generalise a very large group of people.
but if people keep talking about their rights as consumers (as many of you do) & about the so-called lies of the company, you really do come across as entitled little brats. maybe it's my leftist political outlook, but i can't help but think of you as the exact sort of people who'd vote for ron paul.
you speak as though spending some money on a piece of creative fiction gives you the absolute right to determine its fate & if that does not confirm your expectations because of some half-assed marketing spiel, your human rights have in some way been breached.
give it a break. honestly, just stfu.
now, i'm not against the notion of a creative work being changed. i've stated on many occasions that it's great that games can be changed after the fact. don't accuse me of thinking otherwise. nor do i think the mass effect trilogy is a work of art. incidentally, i don't believe games are an art form. (not all narratives, not everything that is beautiful, not all works of creativity are considered works of art.)
but i'm not going to sit here & complain because the creative work did not match my expectations, irrespective of what a company told me beforehand.
imagine a brattish kid gets promised something for christmas & doesn't get what they want— do they threaten to sue their parents? no, they throw out all the toys from their cots. which is exactly what many of you are doing. it's unbecoming of adults to behave in this way.
First off, thanks. I'm bookmarking this so i can link to it next time someone says that the retake movement is the side being hostile on the forums.
Second off, you honestly have np problem with them saying whatever they want aout the game, then when we get it, it differs heavily from what we were promised. Again, ths wouldbe like Bioware promising us a third person shooter/RPG, pulling all the RPG elements, and not mentioning it at all before hand. Companies should be held accountable. Companies must be responsible for their statements, otherwise we give them the right to deceive us.

It is my right as a consumer tocomplain that a product did not meet my expectations. I'm not going to bother with a half-wit troll like you.

I said one person can spoil the whole bunch. Not that it did. Most of the retake me3 are civil, but the ones that are not are very...I don't even know the right word to describe it.

Just leave it as "They are very..."
It conveys the idea far better than any word...

You don't agree with the group so you are less inclined to ignore the singularities then you are when you agree with the group as a whole. This is pretty normal, alot of the retake people feel like they are being attacked, becuase instance like this stick out in our minds. Just human nature.
That was why I bookmarked it, to show both sides can be rude, agressive, and misinformed.

Oh god I hope not. If anything part of me wonders if it is someone posing from retake posing as the other side try to discredit them. I'm just parnoid though, so ithat is probably not true.

Oh look, a blanket assumption made by someone postulating for attention on the internet.
not a blanket assumption. do a quick scan of the forum, you'll see countless posts from people complaining about their rights as a consumer
Prerequisite note: This is not necessarily intended to be focused on Bioware, but a statement in general.
Well... consumers do have rights. That's why laws against false advertising and return policies exist. Consumers also have the right to speak up and one of the best things that we are able to do these days with the internet is give feedback directly to the company that developed said product.
If the developer pays attention their demographic tells them exactly what they need to do to essentially get more money out of them. If they don't listen then they lose the trust of their market and that results in dropped sales.

I feel ashamed to be associated with him. It's no use in telling him how he's acting, cause obviously he doesn't care that he's making us, as well as himself look bad.
I epic facepalmed reading his comments.

So-called lies? They told us we'd have a multitude of endings - multiple times, even! We were actively lied to. I bought the product, in part, based on that promise. I would have figured, as a leftist, you'd be all for consumer protection from fraud.
So yes, as a consumer, I have a right to get what I've paid for. I paid for a game with 16+ endings, and I got a game with 1 ending and three different colors.

Hey - look at the kitty! It has green eyes. Must be a "synthesis" kitty that can live in peace and harmony with ravaging, death mongering robots! Nice kitty!
Now we need a kitty with blue eyes that can control ravaging, death mongering robots and kitty with red eyes that can destroy ravaging, death mongering robots. Then I can have three COMPLETELY DIFFERENT KITTIES!
Hang on, I know I have that copy of photoshop ... er ... I mean a creative-writing-tool .. lying around here somewhere...
