Thanks for the screenshots; I hadn't seen that third variety of cloth yet (none have ever dropped for me, and I'm not used to the idea of having to purchase gear). I just wish the cloth "robes" (Tevinter and Chasind style) had more substance to the shoes - they all look like they're just wearing stockings, and the lack of any bulk around the calf to balance out the shoulders and collar gives them a Tasmanian Devil shape. Sexy from the knees up only, heh. WTB 3d editor to remove the weird turtleneck collar and add medieval gogo boots XD

There are 3 sets of robes that shar that pattern in different colors as well. O really really like them for the female characters, sexes them up a bit and you gotta love the cleavage.

The pictured set are the witches robes avaliable at the wonders of Thedas in Denerim

There is also a set of Orange colored that are the Tevinter robes also avaliable at the wonders of Thedas and they have pretty good mana regen for the price. They also drop from the mages in front of the Hospice in the alienage.

There is a golden brown set that if you do the chasind trail quest in the kokari wilds before the Ostragar battle. I can not confirm this but i did the trail sigh quest in the Kokari wilds and got the set from the stash with one of my mage builds and saw the robes on sale in the shop. I did not notice with my previous mage build that did not do the chasind trail sign quest whether they were avaliable in the wonders of thedas or if to unlock them requires the completion of the trail sigh quest.

I love the look of those robes so much that all the mages in my group wear them, yes even Wynne too, for an older bird she still has a nice rack.

I like the chasind robe and Tewinter robe... on my main char. Morrigan's face is just so damn ugly I dump her for madam W. She might be old but she's still better looking...

That's Templar talk that is, to quote a certain Dark Knight "Does it come in black?"

I am hoping to see modders making more variances for each of the styles of armor/robes, that look good for both men and women or even just one or the other.

Personally I think there is too little at the moment on the robes and light armor front. Although as pointed out there is a few cloth items that are already available that don't have stats. I know this question is more toolset based, but can anyone whom has dabbled in the toolset confirm if it is possible to create some gear in the toolset and adding it into the OC? if so does it bug the game? I'm not looking at making 'godly' gear, just giving my characters some more alternatives.

I would actually love to use the robe Anora (and some other NPCs) wears, the noble clothing and the 'wedding outfit' for mage style characters.

Am also hoping there is some other variants for light armor, I've only seen a couple of styles at moment and with minimal palette change which is a bit disappointing.

As for the topic question, at moment I would agree that wardens commander is one of my favourites on both male and female characters. Whilst I initially liked Blood Dragon for male characters, the one thing that obviously looks out of place is the bright red in the eye gap of the visor. Sure it'll work for ME2, but it shouldn't really have had it in DAO. Oh and it looks a bit funny on dwarves in general :P

Favourite on the whole is Wades Dragonbone, I would love to see that have a helm that has the main base of Juggernauts helm but without the ponytail hair piece, replacing that with two dragon wings akin to the Warden helm. Not sure if there is a helm like this already, if so can anyone point me in its direction.

Oh and I think Leliana would like to see more shoes!

I like the Reaper's Vestments personally. It goes well with the Libertarian's Cowl. I'm not too sure about the animal pelt shoulders though. I think leaving the shoulders uncovered would be better.

As for armour; Templar-styled Massive Armour looks really sweet. You look like a proper battle maiden with the skirt-part of it.

That does look great. I'll keep an eye out for it when I play as a female.

Btw, always loved your Oblivion shots Floydian. :)

the lack of mage robes/clothes makes me sad, i love mages, i love playing mages, i'm on my second mage now in fact. i hate the look of all the female robes, the mini skirt with thigh highs is just silly, and the males, well, just flat out ugly. we need proper robes, and ffs, we are in dire need of better headwear, i won't wear any of the headwear as it is now.

I don't know, I like the stuff precisely because it's not "proper". It's different than what we've come to know as normal and that's a good thing in my opinion.

Similar to robes, I'm disappointed with the staves in this game. Spend 130 gold for the magisters lord staff and it looks the same as the first one I ever owned.

There are only four staff models provided, and only one of those (I think) looks good. Hopefully once we get some model import/export support people will provide us some better looking staves - though there is only so much you can do with a stick that has a rock tied to it...

Anyway, back to the actual topic. I'm pretty sure you can take clothing and apply properties and add it to your OC. Not that the clothing is all that great, but at least it's different.

Not adding much to the discussion. But I really hate how the Bikini Dalish Leather looks.....the figure just doesn't.....work with that.

To me it makes sense that there are so few mage robe styles. You basically have 3 based on the tight control of magic. The Circle type robes heavily influenced by the Chantry and highly regimented. Tevinter where rank is very important and its basically a uniform and apostates which are hunted down. Now you might complain that the last group isn't varied enough but given the setting finding an Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat really doesn't fit.

Couple other shots of the Verathorn armor since I'm messing around with looking for oddball armors that differ from the majority.

I don't have a screenshot (I'm on the wrong computer), but on my second playthrough I'm doing a DW fighter with Wade's dragonskin armor, and it looks really good. If you plan on using his dragonbone for your tank that doesn't work, but I was letting mine use Juggernaut instead.

If this thread's still active tonight I'll post a screenshot.

A litle off-topic, but how do you get these elongated elven ears on a player character? I tried during character creation as best as I could, but did not even come close. Is this some sort of mod?
