A litle off-topic, but how do you get these elongated elven ears on a player character? I tried during character creation as best as I could, but did not even come close. Is this some sort of mod?

You have to use the toolset.

You can edit a head morph in the toolset and then edit a saved game to use it. I learned to do it from this helpful thread. http://social.biowar.../8/index/115064

It says so right above the pics, this is Varathorn's armor, which is crafted by... Varathorn (the Dalish smith)

And here's a tutorial to use the toolset to customize the face of your character (including the much-wanted long elven ears). Unfortunately, AFAIK, you need a relatively fresh game to work with it, because larger savegames make the toolset run out of memory.

Two quick thoughts.

1) I really hate the way the legs look on Varathorn's armor.

2) Chasind robe + Male character = WIN! *

*WIN! being a nice belly busting laugh

Just get him his Ironbark for his quest and he can make a breastplate or a sword.

Or you can try to convince him to make both with a skill check.

I don't like the legs on it either really.  I like the upper half though.

Oh! You can talk him into a sword, too? I thought it was a bow?

I am so picking this up, though. *bounces* If only I wasn't playing as a dual weilding Rogue, the thought of dropping enough points in STR to have the 30 required to wear it is a bit unhappy. :-/ *shakes fist* Why does all the Light Armor look EXACTLY THE SAME on female models...

Maybe it was a bow, at this point I don't honestly remember, but I do recall making an Intimidate check to get him to make me 2 items, one weapon and one armor.

EDIT - He sells Chasind Robes for 1 Gold 16 Silver as well.

Is there any chance someone with incredible talent can remove the birdsnests from the female robes. I'm getting kind of sick of bird's nest soup.

reaper's vestments are my favorite... best looking though? They are all similar, it's a matter of preference I guess.... as far as armor goes, for females the superior drakeskin set is really good.. as far as my favorite stat wise, obviously the blood dragon although I usually stick it on alistair and put the warden commander and juggernaut ones on sten and oghren because while they dish out a lot of damage, they lose health faster than everyone in the party except maybe zev... but I rarely take alistair, sten, or oghren with me anywhere so they chill at camp with it..... I only take them for certain missions which involves their plots or if I feel like a change of pace

I usually roll with Leliana, Shale, and my Dog.   Wynne in place of Leliana is good for the last part of the game, although not needed and it's pretty sick watching Leliana climb up the archdemon with a sword and dagger.
Morrigan has her uses as well.... her swarm is fun and the quickest way to get around areas if you are just exploring.

My main character, shale, and my dog could take A LOT of damage... they all have OVER 40 constitution and plenty of points put into the other areas as needed....

As of now, the major holdup with any model changes or additions is the lack of export utility to get models from a 3d program back into the game. There are a couple projects in the work (fan-based) to create programs to handle that aspect of things; I'm sure once they're working, we'll start seeing new/modified models. In the meantime... we're stuck with Bioware's vision (which, although I like the art style overall, the female robes are not generally to my taste, either).

Laugh if you will, but that's what I've got on my male elven mage right now. *ogles shamelessly* Ooh, yeah. Mama likes!

I actually like the robes in the game, I just wished for even more variety... and hats that were like 8x less stupid. Seriously, the hats in this game just look ridiculous. Like colored dunce caps with teeth hanging off the brims. Bleh. Only the hood is decent, but it looks silly with the feathers.

That Warden Commander armor looks fierce. Love Juggernaut and the Dragon stuff, but the really good armors all look so flat-chested--then again, historically, armor was shaped in a very specific way in order to deflect blows, so I think it's probably more realistic this way.

In my opnion there are only two decent pieces of clothing/armor in the game, morrigans armor and the queens robe... egads... can we stop making the gazillionthst morrigan face and get some decent gear made? I'd do it myself if I knew how.

For a character wearing massive armor, I'm quite fond of the ones that use the Templar model on a human female. I think most of the other plate makes your character look awkward - very spindly arms and legs - and not at all tough or intimidating.

As other people have said probably the Warden Commander armor and Ancient Elven look best on females. Personally Id say the Warden Commander has the best model for armor Ive seen so far. It would be nice to see a silver/steel coloured varient. It might even look close to the Warden Armor in the trailer!

For Robes/Clothing Id say the Chasind model. It is a shame the variety is limited to at most 1-3 clothing/robe models.

I like the armor that drops on the Tevinter Mage that is running the slaver operation in the Alienage. I played a male tank, but it looked great on Morrigan!
