Something funny, I always thought Alpha Protocol was a spy rip of ME. Now it feels the other way around. The games degraded in quality.

Alpha Protocol has the last laugh!

All i have to say to the council is this :

Edit :  A Renagade option where i could shoot them all would have been good too.

I've always wondered about Alpha Protocol. Would an ME fan like it?

The branching story arcs, feeling the consquences of past descions, and sotry in gneral is good. Personally I prefr the conversation system, where you have 3 types of responses you choe from depending on how you want the other person to react, to be better than good versus evil (or polite versus jerk).

The gameplay is average, it is glitchy, and kinda short though. Then again, you can pick a copy up for 20-30 bucks now, so i'd say go for it.

Oh and the ending has kinda a generic feel, but ti was still much better than ME3.

They are being replaced in ME2 if you let them die in ME1, and they pretty much don't like Shepard, and gaining Specter status again from them is only symbolic, from what I can remember. I have one of my three Shepards who let them die in ME1 but I haven't touched my in-progress ME2 game with that Shepard in more than a year.

Huh, my super renegade run had Udina as counselor and the counsil killed in ME1. In ME2, they refused to meet with me, let alone reinstate me as a Spectre. Didn't stop me from telling Elias Kellham I'm a Spectre :D

I think the only reason they retconned it is b/c those of us with all human councils would have won the game in 20 minutes.

I thought the human dominated the council not that it was a pure human council? Even if you took the renegade choice in ME 1.

Imagine if Udina had actually been able to get the others to do as he wished.

Did you get an all human council if you chose the option that basicly said "let the bastards die in ME1? I always figured a human lead council meant a human chairman of the council with new representatives from the other races instead of an all human council so I did not know there was a retcon :P

I always chose the focus on sovereign option when the council died though, never the let them die one so perhaps I am just missing out.

You also get more assets with the Alliance fleets if you didn't save the Council.

I saved the council in my game, my fiance didn't. We both played through ME3 pretty much together and I can answer your question very simply. Nothing, not a single damn thing. Well, there are a few mentions that you saved/didn't save the original council but it's really nothing substantial. Same thing with the queen. A few extra war assets, but nothing story wise about the two major decisions in ME1. I'd be mad about it, but I'm too focused on the ending to protest anything else atm.

Rachni Queen being saved has that whole thing with grunt, don't know if they just fabricate a new queen if she was killed.

As for the council, the new council is pretty much the same as the old, they are a bit condescending but they are politicians after all

They fabricate new queen.

Entire ME3 disregards many of your main choices previous choises.

Saving the council/let them die = No importance what so ever

Rachni = doesnt matter

Feros =  Doesn't matter

Collector base = Doesnt matter

Human/Alien council = Doesnt matter

Udina/Anderson = Doesnt matter

Loriks Evidence = Doesn't matter

ME2 many of the Cerebrus sidequests (destroying civilian base or military research/ Keeping some information or not) doesnt matter.

That is why ME3 doesn't live up to expectations... The game promised much and delivered very little. Basically only the Genophage and Talis/Legions loyalty missions mattered.

The game was rushed and it shows. Alternatevily they dropped the high bar on this game and decided to make a worse product than they first set up to do. Doesn't matter anymore, ME3 didn't deliver, and wont. This game was such a missed oppurtunity and it will always be remembered as such.
