Before anyone accuses me of "not understanding sacrifice", I was one of those people who liked Fallout 3's original ending. I felt the Lone Wanderer's journey went full circle. In ME3, it seemed utterly meaningless in a story where we've already seen plenty of sacrifice.

I also don't buy that Shepard "needed to die" just because we can't imagine how he'd do in a civilian setting. So the aim was to give us an open ending...an open ending that our character gets no part in? That is, unless he murders EDI and the Geth with a magical energy explosion that knows how to target anything with AI. (What about VIs? How the **** is an explosion supposed to know the difference?)

That said, I don't feel that Shepard should have survived in every ending. Just one, difficult to obtain ending where he lives would be fine.

Yes but not 16 times over let's get one ending where he lives and can do so with his LI and the player not having to be forced to play MP in order to achieve it.

Yeah sure Shep can die. I don't mind.

I just want an ending that makes bloody sense.

Not if that is the *only* possible ending. My choices through the game have to allow for more variation than that.

we consider a possibility of sacrificing sheppard acceptable,
this should however end the game there with no chance to continue that story this would not cheapen the sacrifice,
it should not however be mandatory,
there should be other costs for not choosing sacrifice or choosing it, a complex tapestry is more interesting

As ONE of the options - yes, i'm fine with it.
As ONLY the option - no, it's just wrong.

If him dying was ONE option, sure.  I'd have no problem if one ending saw Shep die.  If he dies no matter WHAT the ending, then no.  I want an ending where Shep lives and goes off with the rest of the Normandy crew/LI (mostly my LI).

I was expecting my Shepard to sacrifice herself. And i liked the idea, as an ultimate paragon move. Dying fighting for a brighter future, hope etc.

But definitely not for the mess i received.

I have ZERO problem with Shepard dieing, which is probably why I'm not all that upset with the endings. They might not be great and the lack of choice having any impact is... dismaying, but I don't hate it.

I really only have two problems with the ending. 1) No closure with your LI/Normand crew. 2) How the Normandy crew is written off as an afterthough, which makes absolutely no sense to me.

Don't mind Shepard dying at all. Just, can I get some good music with that, like the ME 2 intro :)?

I'm fine with Shepard dying. In fact, I was expecting it to happen...just not for the reasons he did. I suppose that there should be an ending where Shepard can live, but I'd like to have it where it is kind of selfish, and causes repercussions for someone or some group. I feel that their needs to be a sacrifice of some sort.

I fully expected my Shepards to die in the end, all I want is to see the results - see the reapers die, see what happens to the rest of the planets, see what happened to my companions after the fact - either ending cutscenes or epilogue cards.

I would have preferred an ending based on the choices that had been made, not a 'choose your path' where all sheps get the same choices. I don't need a 'happy ever after' ending, just something that makes sense and says what happened to the galaxy as a result.

An ending that would make me proud of all Shepard's hard work and sacrifice.

In one of the ending... sure.

My paragon who has done everything right deserves to go off into the sunset with his LI.

If I knew for a while before the end that I had to beam up and press a button that instantly destroy the citadel and me, then I would be able to accept it. Wouldn't like it, but I would accept that given time.
I was going on the citadel to start the Crucible. That was my goal, dying wasn't.

Your goal was made clear. Defeat the reapers at all costs. That's all there is to it!

Right, and instead I joined them.

yeah i would be ok if he sacrifced himself on a good way, but there must also then be a option that he can survive somehow i say both :-P it would be cool to see after what happends when shepard sacrificed himself and how the rest of the galaxy react on it, but im also curios how shepard will do if he survive probably get kids ect so i go for both options :-)

Only if she dies with Garrus.

EDIT: And yes, it also has to make sense.

Yes, as an option of many. It wouldn't be my canon ending, but I would play through a "Shepard dies" ending to see what it'd be like.
However, when all's said and done, I'd like to see Shep live.

If it was the only option? No.
But this is all hypothetically speaking, as if they actually were going to fix the endings.

With the original promise of a wide variety of endings, I can't see why Shepard would die in every single ending.  However, I can deal with it if Shepard has to die.

I'm okay with Shepard dying if it's because of my actions and my choices - and not some pre-defined story mechanic.

It was well made, but sacrificing yourself was a pretty damn horrible choice. If it only made my warden and the arch-demon die, it would have been an option to consider.

I don't care if he dies. But I just don't want it to be the only option. I just want everything to be clear.

Yeah, but that's exactly what happened. The Warden, and arch-demon die, darkspawn run away, everyone high fives and then a sweet guitar riff plays.

As for what I want, I think I already posted. I'm fine with Shepard dying.
