I became a lurker again, since the statement and the climate change after it. I support a compromise, and despise any form of personal attacks on BW employes. If your boss tells you to do something at work, you do it. whatever that is (except theft and murder of course, unless you pursue a political career maybe :P ) - been there, done that.
I would also never post outside of this board in general, not to force my opinion on others.
Let's wait until April and see what they say, until than, if I would be them, I would use fake user accounts to get a general feel and what people seem to whant fixed, so if a poll comes up. I'll fill it out.

I have no idea why people review bomb, it's just immature and counter-productive when trying to foster a civil discussion or debate with a content provider, imho.

My plan for now on how to cope with the endings (now that the crippling depression is starting to fade to some strange form of apathy) and help my fellow ME fans in the meantime before the DLC comes out? Basically a let's play to celebrate the awesomeness of the series as a whole (endings excepted).  If anyone has any suggestions/recommendations drop me a line on the video page (weird plug over)

Other than that, here's my proposed agreement with Bioware:
I'm giving Bioware the time they need to do what they have to in order to fix the endings. I will buy any character driven or multi-player DLC they come out with. I will also keep giving honest feedback on here, twitter, and youtube (including some of it directly to Bioware staff, politely as always) as any fan of the development team should. However, if they do not fix the endings I will definitely be changing my 'pre-order Bioware games' stance to 'wait for bargain-bin unless met with awesome fan reviews'.

Bioware on the other hand I expect to make and follow through on plans for fixing the endings in some way. Whether that is expanding beyond the current ones, rewriting them, or even working in DLC to clarify them as is (as well as fix major plot holes), I expect them to do something and get it to us asap without rushing it out the door too rapidly. I also expect them to continue other DLC projects to expand upon the content already in the single player and multi-player.

tl;dr: I will give Bioware the time they need to do what they need to. I will give them honest feedback in a direct, polite, manner. If Bioware doesn't fix the issues with the endings I will seriously consider my stance on them. I expect Bioware to listen to it's fanbase and fix (in some way) the problems with the endings of the game and provide us with more content for the game in general (paid of course).

haven't read the entire thread, but OP says that Bioware doesn't want to promise closure because it's hard thing to satisfy. Since when does making a promise they can't/wont keep been an issue for bioware?

Since you fight so hard for the ending...
Would you be willing to help the ones that have not an ending?

http://www.radioplay...-effect-on-ps3/

I know many will say, Microsoft here/there/rights/exclusive...but if we PS3ers don't try we won't have a result.
A story can be crippled both for the bad ending and the lack of a beginning.

I never review bombed on line. I have absolutely review bombed in person, to my friends who trust my judgement on the Mass Effect series. It took me MONTHS to get them to buy copies of Mass Effect 2 (after they were the ones to get me into ME1!)...and they were thankful for it. So they couldn't believe it when I told them to not buy ME3...but I explained myself, and they understood.

Will I change my tune when we finally have the endings we were promised? Of course! But will I stop being honest even one second before we get what we were promised?

No sir.

Review bombing. Naming it like this is biased - don't you think ?

If the ending ruined the game experience to someone so badly that he won't touch ME3 again (and even needs time to recover to start playing games at all) then I feel it's completely justified to give the game a very bad review. And even if I find it strange myself HOW deeply emotional some people are about the ending I can understand them as ME managed to make me involved and feel with Shep and the NPCs - just not to that extend so it did not hit me that bad but still I planned to replay me1 - me2 after playing through me3 and then me3 again - trying out different choices. I do not feel the need to do so now.

However: If someone uses multiple accounts to drive down the rating of the game just because he is able to - then yes - that's really a bad thing.

So here is my position on this:
I rated ME3 3/5 stars at amazon - I feel like this is a fair rating. I loved the game but the last 10 minutes ruined it for me. I cleary explained why I rated this way in the review. 3/5 is better then neutral. And I'm willing to change my review if I see it fit (ending dlc). I did so ONE time and that's it. Is that what you call review bombing ?
If everyone that felt the same would do the same - would that justify calling it review bombing. I do not think so.

Please try to understand my point:
I do not beleive any second that Bioware does make games for the pure love of games. And I second that for EA. And I have no issue with that - but that doesn't make it less true. So if I want to make them do something about it I need to motivate them to do so. The only means I have so it to make them feel fun or pain ( please do not take this "physical" ). It's not that easy to make them feel "fun" as I already bought the game but I'm clearly signalling that I WILL buy ending dlc (so this should be fun). That leaves me with "pain". So YES I had an intention when I did that review - but still I tried to be fair, honest and it is my opinion. Do you suppose that I keep quiet just because I know that my opinion might hurt (and thus motivate to react ?).

And just because I feel it is important: Bioware - you managed to get many people emotionally involved in your game - get them care - so the storm this ending is causing is actually a big compliment.

Whilst I "get" the endings, I'm happy to hold the line in order to provide some form of epilogue or "Scooby Doo" ending, that may explain matters a little clearer.

As I said, a fair review is fair. But going out of your way to find places where you can give 1/10 reviews...while we cannot control such behaviour, we can distance ourselves from it, and make clear that, as far as that is concerned, it has nothing to do with the RetakeME3 movement as a group.

I hope this helps Bioware understand more of exactly what we are asking for. We all know, whether or not we want to admit it, that Bioware can't deliver a product that meets every demand of every player. But the OP in this thread has very valid points, and I think we all need to adhere to them.

This seems like a good compromise (although I never went as far as to review bomb). I'm perfectly willing to let bio ware fix this, and let bygones be bygones. But I will still boycott everything BW until I get a good ending. And while I won't bash it anymore to friends, I'm also not gonna recommend until I know the ending fix is a good one. I'm personally very worried, they'll do something like super rush it, or just give a text epilogue.
