Well done!

I've actually lost all respect for IGN and Gamespot over this situation.

Can anyone recommend any other really good comprehensive game article/review websites?
I've been going to those to since they started, but it's finally dawning on me that their time is over.

PCGamer is decent, and tends to have good articles on gamming

Ouch. Maybe we should back off and give him our sympathies? ... Nah, I just tweeted him the link to this article instead.

It's gotta hurt to have the very thing you said used against you.
Well, that's what you get for using the word "integrity" and not knowing what it means.

I wonder how Colin will reply, he said he would on his twitter account, i cant wait for the spectacle, because somehow he has got to be right, i wonder which way he goes with it, Forbes is lying? I dont care? Its totally different? its been torn out of porportion? i really wonder what he's gonna say.

I'm going with "the situation wasn't exactly the same therefore the principle is different!".
Don't expect logic and his own words to slow down a self-entitled troll like Moriarty, he has sponsors to please after all.

Dude, the irony is that the situation WASN'T the same and therefore the principle IS different.

But don't expect logic to slow down a rage-filled and vengeful audience like you, and the others on this forums. He has other like-minded forum-members, as well as an ego the size of NY, to please after all.

Raging and vengeful, not at all, i just like the fact he's being put into place.
And i know it wasnt exactly the same situation, but he's being a hypocrit in any case, agreeing with one group of fans, and not agreeing with the other. On basically the same situation, the infamous fans knew about the bad changes, so they COULD react before it came out, we didnt know anything about the horrific ending untill after it came out. so we have to react now.

Peace.

Kain states "Here’s Colin Moriarty two years ago, discussing changes made by studio Sucker Punch to their game Infamous 2, after the release was met with fan backlash:"

That is 100% false. The fans spoke out when details of the character change (look/voice) were revealed during devleopment. Suckerpunch weighed their options and made adjustments prior to the game's release. What is happening here is completely different.

Keep drinking the Kool-Aid.

I understand the situation are not the same, but please explain why in one instance it is good to change content based on fan feedback and in another it is not? Just the timing "during development vs. after release"? Does it boil down to timing for you?

It's ok to change during development, after is sacrosanct? That is a strawman argument.

OMG So here is his response.

Colin Moriarty:
For those looking for clarity on my stance on Infamous 2's Cole and its differences from ME, we discuss it on last week's Podcast Beyond.

So we have to endure a pod cast on IGN's website to get an answer? So we get to add to IGN's traffic numbers, and have listen to pod cast to get some kind of answer? I don't think so. Moriarty can't talk off being a hypocrite.

I don't know I a thing about Infamous 2 and so I can't comment.

What I can say is that I watched the IGN video and it was a raving rant against fans requesting change. It was really offensive to me, being 51 and playing the game, if you're going to disagree you can do so in a civil manner.

That said the Forbes article points out the inconsistencies with Colin's past comments.

Forbes' article doesn't go deep enough. All it does is show a surface so-called contradiction in Colin's past statement without going into how the two circumstances are COMPLETELY different.

But I bolded the real reason behind the love for Forbes and the hate for Moriarty. This is undeniable. It's not about trying to point out "inconsistencies" and "hypocrisy". It's about revenge. Pure and simple.

If Moriarty's arguments have ever been about the cost or ease of changing an already released game you would be right.  When he is not personally attacking fans, his arguments have been in regards to artistic integrity, this exsists regardless of the stage of developement, so he is being hypotcritical.

If it really is the case that the change was made before release and not after it's still a fault that we have to call him out on. It reduces the credibility of everything else he writes. Doesn't mean Colin is getting whooped any less.

You don't have to watch the podcast, I can tell you the difference. inFamous 2 didn't having a walking IGN advertisement in the game, so it's ok to praise them for listening to the fans.

It doesn't matter when Sucker Punch made the change, the argument is still valid. They made a change to their "artistic design" because fans didn't like it. Which if BW makes changes, it would be for the same reason(fan displeasure toward original idea). IGN didn't defend artistic integrity when they wanted the change to happen. Now they have a problem with fans if a different franchise voicing their concerns. It's hypocritical and one sided journalism.

The principle is exactly the same, fans wanting developers to change something they don't like. The end.
You refuse to see this, and resort to insults and raging to hide the fact that you have no point.

You are a disgrace to the Sisko.

So what I'm getting from some people. It's ok for Collin to pull the artistic integrity crap when it goes against his views(ME3 ending), but when it best serves his views (Infamous 2) its ok to throw it out the window?
