In some ways, I'm not pleased that Forbes is drawing attention to this trash. I still think the best way to marginalize obvious trolls is to simply ignore them, not to respond to them and point out to everyone that they exist.

But I can't deny that it's nice to have a reputable source state the obvious when tools like this guy waste so much energy spewing their nonsense.

...And once again, Forbes runs his mouth off without considering WHY it might be a dangerous precedent.

Fallout 3 got Broken Steel because the DEVELOPER didn't like the ending. The "dangerous precedent" is in giving the fans control. Fans should NOT have control over whether any part of a game gets changed or not.

But then it's easy to like the article because it agrees with you.

Amen to that... Who names their kid Moriarty anyway? That's like tatooing the words "kick my ass" on a kid's forehead.

Wait, Moriarty isn't his legal name, right?  It's his writer's/screen name, isn't it?

Hey Forbes, Charlie Sheen called, he wants his winning back.

(Don't give it to him, you've earned it)

The sad thing is I doubt Moriarty will ever see the article, he doesn't seem the type from his videos to visit Forbes. And if he happens to, he won't respond to it. The kid doesn't know how to properly discuss or debate, he just trash talks. It's hard to trash talk when you're being shown to talk out of both sides of your mouth.

Well done!

I've actually lost all respect for IGN and Gamespot over this situation.

Can anyone recommend any other really good comprehensive game article/review websites?
I've been going to those to since they started, but it's finally dawning on me that their time is over.

Agreed. I've canceled my Gamespot scip over this. i never use IGN, so that's no loss.

Did you tell them why?  They need to know attacking and mocking fans is not good business.

Dangerous precedent? it's a game not a Federal law or the Sistine
Chapel or something. Consumers have always had a voice in changes to products
we just rarely use it.  New Coke anyone? Coke
could have told everyone to go jump in a lake, and thereby lost some market
share Bioware has the same choice now. The industry only has themselves to blame,
we live in a era of alternate endings, director's cuts and Han shooting
first/second/same time/first and DLC that changes everything, get used to it.
Sure many of the above changes flowed from the developers of each product, but
for 5 years Bioware "asked" us for input on how the story should go
with every button push. Sure that "control" we had was an illusion
but we believed we had a part in the telling of the story and perception often trumps
reality in the human mind.

Yeah I read that article earlier. Forbes has wrote a few articles today and last night about this. Do a Mass effect search on the site, it will give you a current listing of articles.

it's not a dangerous precedent, if it's been done before. Also, Bioware and EA came up with the DLC for this series. How many of us would simply say it sucked and moved on if they had never released DLC in the first place? They set themselves up for this one.

Bwaaahahahaha! Colin got owned like a b$&@%! I love it! He was a self-proclaimed whiner and advocate of change, when it was a change he wanted. And, he had the balls to applaud the company who made the changes. Hypocrite.

Seriously, when will these wannabe journalists shut their traps? Maybe getting called out as a hypocrite by Forbes was a long held career goal? These chumps should cut their losses and move on to another topic. In trolling us, they are exposing their own ignorance and lack of professional objectivity.

Great post!!! It's obvious that IGN is in Bioware/EA's pocket now. I don't know how a gaming site who has one of their most popular personalities in the game itself, has any right to criticize unhappy customers. It seems like a huge conflict of interest over there at IGN.

Nice Article.

What a strange trip it's been eh? Forbes has got to be one of the biggest, if not the biggest supporter of the Retake Mass Effect Movement.
