I glad someone was able to discredit him. All the interviews I've seen him in he's come across like a major tool.

Forbes just intellectually powerbombed Colin onto a dragons tooth. Im going to post that to his twitter because he is just a hypocritical troll now.

Forbes are my new favourite business and media conglomerate.

What, you don't have a favourite business and media conglomerate?

Nice.

I lost respect for these "professional game reviewers" a long time ago.

Why do I constantly picture Moriarty getting slushied in the face while walking down the streets of San Francisco? Mmmm, Glee.

I don't think there can be any doubt at this point that IGN is acting as a shill, even if not under direct direction from EA/Bioware, it's still being done, likely to ingratiate themselves for future access to development for articles and previews and ad revenue.

Thank you Forbes for being an odd voice of reason and truth in all of this.

Never in my entire life I would have imagined that Forbes of all platform could ever represent any opinion I had. Hint: I'm not the Forbes target audience by a million miles. They just look so incredibly rational because they are a serious, unbiased publication (and a business one). And basically inside the VG community that just... doesn't exist, not at the big level at least, the publishers make it impossible by feeding exclusives to complacent sites. It's just refreshing to have this kind of rational input from outside.

I'm still stunned that Forbes is the main journalistic viewpoint for those unhappy with the ending.

I am as well, I guess I never gave them enough credit, maybe I should pay more attention to them in the future to see if they are worth reading regularly, I always considered them valid, just felt they would never report many things I cared to read about.

IGN has been very unproffessional through this whole thing, rather then actually reporting anything, they make video's mocking fans and have actors come in pretending to be fans acting like morons.

I think that Forbes magazine correctly that it makes financial sense for Bioware to change the endings. If they can be made to understand it is in their self interest to alter the endings they will do it. Companies are fairly predictable in that way. But understand we will be paying for new content. I'm fine with that; some are not.

The Infamous 2 controversy and this controversy are two different things.

Infamous 2 was still in development when fans learned of Cole's new looks and wanted a change.

Comparing that to what happened in ME3 would be as if Infamous 2 shipped with the new-look Cole and then was changed with a patch a month afterwards due to fan outcry. Obviously that wasn't the case.

This should be something "Kain" and this community should realize, but I'm not surprised they don't. Kain is probably lurking around these forums trying to figure out what he can write next to get more hits, and the community that loves Kain for doing it are simply not thinking things through, but are just reacting out of gut instinct.

It's sad and pathetic all around.

So Moriarty is a hypocryt. He argues for endings and characters to be changed and awards the studio for bowing to fan pressue.

Same situation different game and he now things its "wrong" this guy hadn't even played ME3 when I watched the vid about 10 minutes after he posted. I laughed at him then, I've laughed at hte fact IGN have "stepped back" from him and all the videos now say IGN does not share this viewpoint and im laughing more now that it is proven he is a hyprocryt.

HAHAHA.

The man unfortunatly waded into something he really should of stayed out of.

PS. there is no difference between pre release and post release in teh eyes of the fans - if we had known about the ending it would of been worse for Bioware.

Man seriously Epic, a serious and respected Business journal covering a "frivolous" computer game news. THAT is the precedent, this is where it shows that Maybe, just maybe you did fumble the ball, maybe ignoring all the themes established in the first 2 games might not have been the right move, replacing it with a falsely religious imagery might not have fitted with the tone established previously

hahahha the article didn't even have to explain why it was hypocritical. They just used IGN's biased title and posted Colin's statement from 2 years ago. And then stated how the title/question does not even make sense as it's been done before by big games.

They made their point jon stewart style

And I think I will avoid IGN from now on. TO repeat a poster above, anyone know of any GOOD game review sites?

well for rpg's i generally prefer gamebanshee. Their reviews are score less, game is played properly and they list out what matter. They are very good for rpg reviews

Im not, they have actual journalists there, which actually research a story, and try to be objective, or at least see multiple sides of things before he writes an article. What everyone else seems to be doing is writing angry blogs.

I mean, seriously, Kain Moriarty?

This guy is probably one of the most idiotic people ever. What a cheesy and stupid pen name.

Okay, that was pretty much verbal ownage.

But the guy's last name is Moriarty, he could call me a communist and I would still think he's slightly badass.
