After all Conan Doyle wanted his character dead and series finished, but was pressured by fans to find a workaround of Sherlock's death and continue the series. Sounds familiar, right?
And somehow art didn't end that moment.

I wonder if IGN would defend him after they took a time machine.

Why didn't that compromise Bioware's artistic integrity?
That was just as much a financially motivated decision.

I don't think people understand that their Q4 ends March 31st, therefore they released the game before that date. It's clear that this game could stand some more polish. Probably more time to tweak the story.

"First of all, IGN/Colin has no credibility when talking about the Mass Effect franchise.
Colin did not buy an Xbox in 2007 just to play Mass Effect 1. He discovered Mass Effect 2 on his PS3, after Microsoft stopped being the franchise's publisher. He just read through the in-game comics the events that happened in Mass Effect 1 (and still, I'm not even sure about it) and that's it...he has no CLUE about why Mass Effect players are upset at the half-baked, nonsensical ending. UNLIKE COLIN MORIARTY, THOSE PEOPLE HAVE ACUTALLY PAID THEIR COPY FULL-PRICE. They didn't like to be screwed, since EA didn't deliver what was PROMISED. EA/Bioware went "Peter Molyneux" on us, in the case of Fable it's unacceptable but why should you people take EA's defense?
Don't forget that IGN is also featured in the game. Yes, you read me well. EA hired IGN's Jessica Chobot for Mass Effect 3. She's a character in the game. So IGN are obviously not objective at all when talking about the game, and the review shows a lot. EA is now "buying" review sites! Awesome! I can't believe how many people defend IGN & EA in the comments...this gaming generation is retarded...netpass/war on used games, day 1 DLC's, publishers lying to us, and review sites hired as "in game characters" taking their defense when gamers finally unite to get the product they paid for...false advertising has to stop.
I want to tell Colin:
Yes, only 50000 voices were heard on the Bioware Forums. But you forgot one fact: the forums are locked, the rest of the world can't access them, you need to register the game code that's inside your game case in order to access the forums. How many players do this, honestly??? Also, every Mass Effect 3 player who visited and registered to the official forums seen the official poll/topic about the ending...more than 90% players who registered their copy hated it, and said they want Bioware to change it. Doesn't this tell you something?
EA/Bioware lied to consumers. They said after playing Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3 (around 100/150 hours of gameplay and sometimes more for some people) you'd have multiples endings, that Mass Effect wouldn't have stupid A, B, C type of ends.
So what happened in the end? EVERYBODY got only 1 end LOL, the same exact cut scenes, with just a different color for the explosions lol. The galaxy is doomed whatever you do. The dev team themselves said another end was planned but they had no time and changed it at the last minute. Don't even get me started about day 1 DLC. Mass Effect 3 had 2 times less content than ME2. And yet they succeeded to remove the audio files of one character, and put these as a DLC, so it doesn't look as if the actual character data was on the disc (but his 3D model was still here and locked). I could go on and on so much...people who don't know Mass Effect but sides with IGN on this topic have no idea how EA tried to rip us off.
But the main reason why people asked Bioware to change the end is because Mass Effect (just like ALL Bioware games) are about STORY, they are about good writing, but the end was just awful, filled with plot holes and inconsistencies. All you've done during 3 games was ignored in the end, against what was promised by EA/Bioware since the beginning. They took our money and delivered bull***
BIGGEST VIDEO GAME RICKROLL EVER!
I'm glad the fans are making them pay for this...no wait...they are the ones who will pay for the additional endings DLC LOL SO basically EA is making even money out of this...Colin Moriarty should be ashamed. He used to protect gamers (see his articles about Bethesda having to fix Skyrim) but now he's just a greedy *** on EA's side"

I hope Bioware changes the endings because then I can start a petition to get the endings of other games changed that I didn't like.
For example:
1. Splinter Cell Conviction (The ending was too sad. I wanted Sam to return to the agency and after playing the Spinter Cell series for 5 games, I deserve to have the ending I want because I am so invested in the character).
2. Heavy Rain (They promised my choices would determine the endings and it's interactive, so I should be able to create the ending I want. I wanted an ending where the mother was the serial killer not the one they game me)
3. Alan Wake, Flower, and Journey (to vague...not enough details...no clear answers or closure...too many plot holes).
4. Super Mario Brothers (after all of that, all I get is a "thank you" from the princess c'mon what a letdown!)
5. Uncharted 1 and 2 (they added a magical or supernatural aspect to it at the very end. I didn't like that. It's inconsistent with the world)
6. Halo 3 (They promised that I was going to "Finish the Fight" but they lied because now they are making Halo 4.)
Anyway let's hope Bioware changes Mass Effect 3's ending, because I have a long list of games that could benefit from this precedent.
Feel free! Might be hard getting a hundred thousand people to agree after all this time though

Very good points, and though I don't know Colin personally it would certainly seem that when cash comes his way he's more than willing to parrot what he's told. I'm not sure, but maybe one reason IGN is so adamant about Bioware not changing anything is that it will help reveal the farce that they are?

Tbh, the only reason why I still keep tabs on IGN is for the gameplay trailers.....
..... like the one for The Walking Dead that just came out.
