Liara and I are "just...friends", much to her disappointment, but we're good friends, and it's the end of the world as we know it.

They don't take biological material from the "father".

I can see why people would be scoffing at this, but if you had her romanced in 1, 2 + LotSB, and 3 it's not some out of this world inappropriate question.  She does talk about your future blue children right before she does it.

It doesn't matter that it's not biological material. It's a violation regardless.

As for the romance plot, it's not even cool to use your actual partner for a pregancy WITHOUT CONSENT. Just because we're together doesn't mean my partner gets to do whatever she wants with my body. It's still mine, no matter how close we are.

Besides, she WASN'T my love interest, so...My point stands.

I didn't mind at all, since I'd already committed to her on the Citadel as her bondmate. If she took DNA... did she have cloning in mind just in case?

Asari just use their partner to randomize their own DNA to produce offspring, and it works best with alien DNA to avoid the Ardat Yakshi.

 I have to say, this would be convenient and not surprising in the least, because she 100% survives through all three games.  Besides probably being "canon LI", that might be the purpose behind it... not that I agree with it, mind you.

During the ending sequence when you start having Flashbacks, you see Joker, Anderson and Liara, and I was like, "what signifigance is this supposed to be?.." Tali was my LI and I didn't see her at all,

Honestly, whether or not Liara was a LI or friend, she respected the hell out of Sheppard and she cared for him a great deal, so I saw no problem with it.

Weird, on my first run I got Liara (even though I was in a relationship with Traynor apparently.. Never figured I'd start a relationship with her, just some casual "blowing off steam")
Second run I got Ashley.

Not quite, to friends she showed a simple image just like Shiala gave you the cipher in ME1. When she's romanced they also share a kiss, just making it a special moment for both of them.

There's obviously two different types of people here. People who see it as a violation and an act of rape, and then people who see it as an act of respect and see Liara carrying Shepard's legacy after his death.

If you see it as rape, you don't have to interpret what happened as this. It's just speculation. No problem.

I was told that you can also see Ashley or Kaidan in that, but no one else. No Tali, Garrus, etc.

I just find it pretty odd that they bother to go through with the flashback thing, and not show them. Especially if one of them was your LI, Because they're the only charachters *with the exception of people like joker/chakwas* who were with you the -entire- series

That is assuming they didn't croak in ME2, or Tali didn't throw herself off a cliff in ME3.

Ah well, just another pointless part of the game that we were supposed to "fill in the blanks for ourselves" and it just caused more confused speculation.

it's deiiferent between the friends and romancing, well sorta romancing her the scene is more mental making out after some very very telling exchanges in body language and expressions

So it's not really " without your knowing" in that case unless a player is utterly unable to read body language at all

So whether your shep does or doesn't want a child, she can just as easily become pregnant without you knowing and raise the child on her own with no problem, because as I said, asari are very aloof when it comes to relationships.

It could work, considering no matter what your Shepard looked like, whether Shep was a girl or boy, doesn't really matter for continuity's sake. Asari look like Asari.

And they do have lifespans of 1,000+ years... I can imagine a huge number of things they could do with a game series that spans a millennium.

this is what i actually wanted for MY ending, i dont mind shepard dieing, its ok, that is what shepard is suppoust to do.
But in the final video ( the red, green and blue WE ALL GOT NO MATTER WHAT WE DID IN 1 2 or 3 ) i was hoping to see my liara rubbing her belly with a smily face like.

Anyone else find this theory (i.e.- Liara being a kinda creepy, dna stealing weird-o) immensely hilarious?

I would totally pay money to get scenes that expanded on this for sheer humor.

Like Shep wakes up and she's just like standing at the foot of his bed breathing. Or Shep keeps getting calls but all he hears is heavy panting. Weird art keeps getting slid under his door. Or he goes up to his cabin and she's rolling in his dirty clothes and sheets.
