 The Collectors should  make a reaperance in ME3 in a single player campain DLC and multiplayer faction.
The Collector base dosen't mean the Collectors are extint there had to be other ships still raiding human collanies that fled to very remote areas of the galaxy.
Staying out of sight until the Reaper invasion before making their next move.
Repurposing captive humans as drone (husk-like creature that use guns) to serve as the Collector basic front line grunts while while Prothean Collectors are improved.

This would mean the return of the Scion,
