First of all, I will admit I only played ME3 ^^ I do intend to pay 1 & 2 soon.

For me, Shepard was quite boring, no real personality. The companions were all a lot more interesting, especially Liara and Kaidan. I also really liked James and Cortez and Jeff. They seemed like real people with real problems.

I thought the ending was amazing, and I had tears in my eyes, no, really, slipping down my face if I'm honest. If Shepard were to be brought back, I feel like it would be cheating that amazing ending that had such an emotional effect on me.

But mostly I don't really care because, again, for me, Shepard was rather a dull guy.

But more ME universe? YES PLEASE!

I don't really want another game with Shepard. It was a nice triology, set in an interesting universe, but now it's time to move on to something different. I'll miss the characters, but the Reapers have been stopped, the world has been saved, and Shepard's greatest mission is over. That's a good place to end her story.
I'm fine with more games in the ME-universe, but only with completely new characters and a new protagonist. I'd prefer something new entirely, though.
I feel quite finished with the ME-series (apart from any single player DLCs that may be released in the future), I just wish it had ended in a better way.

no chance maybe at best there will be DLC like Mass Effect 2: Arrival which added to the ending to enable a sequel to occur more seamlessly.

Actually, Arrival was the true ending of Mass Effect 2.

No, Sheps story ended if they attempt to write him into another game it will be like beating a dead horse in the hopes it will **** money.

What's Shep going to fight now the Reapers are dead? What's going to happen seeing as there are no more relays?

It's better to make a new game set further in the future with new characters with some of the ME trilogy characters playing a part (Liara as the Shadowbroker, Wrex and Eve) fighting something a little more mundane.

Although tbh my hope is that the figure out how to rebuild the mass relays then build a giant one to be used as a mass driver and send a ship to a nearby galaxy of which your the XO or something. And I really hope you can pick a race. :)

Who says Shepard can't be in a Mass Effect 4 game? They could make him/her "Admiral Shepard" and the character would still be in the game, although in a secondary role (like Hacket).

Beating a dead horse? Not at all. The reapers are defeated...ok...but the Dark Energy threat is still there and the reapers were the only ones that were actually "immune" to it, so they better find a solution or everyone is going to die soon.  In fact, you can make a Mass Effect 4 and even Mass Effet 5 out of the Dark Energy "quest" alone.

I want ME4, because there is enough substance in ME3 to and have Shepard in ME4.
The last 10 minutes they did, they managed to put the plan for a new game for themselves. Shepard is alive, garrus will have a drink in rio, miranda wants Shepard to come and find her.

What is it with people who are obsessed with what BioWare has said, yes they have said that it is the end of Shepard's story, but it should be the end for him? NO!

You must be open to all, yes, a plan is a plan, but we are human beings.
Plans are changing, always, no matter what, is not the fans happy with this, I think regardless of what they should listen to those who actually pay their livelihood, creating many more DLC / multi option choices you have made to the end, or make ME4 which sounds a lot cheaper, and not waste lot of time.

If we did not pay for the games, they would not have works to go to in the morning.....!! We demand another game.... -.- At Least I am.

I pretty much agree. I don't see Shepard as a must have, but a new Mass Effect definitely yes! I mean, how could they create such a good universe and let it die after only three games and a bunch of novels and stupid comics. I want more! And in the future of course, not useless prequels please :(

There are some interesting possibilities with Shepard having a presence in future Mass Effect games, but judging by the way Bioware has evolved under EA I have doubts the treatment would be execuded well - so I fear it would be a bomb.

What intrigues me is the idea that Shepard's legacy can be extended in a similar way as Star Wars (namely Darth Vader) - not using it as an exact template, but just in making Shepard even more epically legendary. It could conceivably be determined by the ending of ME3 choices: Destroy = Shepard being a mutilated veteran, Synthesis = Shepard lives on in the form of a sentient AI, Control = similar to Synthesis but different(??)... for ex. Perhaps Shep had a child? Femshep could've had it while incarcerated before ME3?

Alternately, a prequel could be something like Shepard's mother during the age of the FCW. Lot's of possibilities that could either be written and produced really well or really poorly.

The only problem is that if there is an ME4 it would have to be a prequel. And I have a philosophical dislike of prequels: I actually like to not know how something will end, to have that open-ended possibility to think about.

The folks at bioware have said many times that ME3 is the end of Shepard's story. If there are any future games, they've made it pretty clear that Shepard wont be a part of them.

Do you think it is possible.

Nothing's impossible. The question is would EA greenlight it. ME2 and ME3 both came out about 26 months after previous games so we would have to assume that this would be the minimum time they would require to make ME4 (with Shepard). That would mean the game would come out around May 2014 = after Xbox 3, PS4 and Wii-U will be already out. We're at the end of the generation at the moment. EA may want to move their dev teams to next-gen projects already (it's about time really considering it takes at least 3 years to create a good next-gen game from scratch). So I don't think this will happen. If this generation was even longer and new consoles didn't came out till like 2016, then yeah, I could see EA try to squeeze out one more ME game with Shep in this generation, but that's not the case

for me, making a mass efect 4 with shepard would be the best gift for me :) finally very involved in following the shepard character (yes see survive in mass effect 3 was required) and in my relationship with Cortez. I hope so that even when EA and Bioware does not deviate the option that's all. as a DLC or DLC retrouvail mission "to find the corp shepard."

From what was stated by BioWare, ME 3 is the end of Shepard's story no sense in necro'ing a 4-month old thread.
