i'm new here and apologize if this was answered already, but i am playing as an adept and like using singularity and warp. when i look at my character's stats, it says the cool down time is 3 or 4 seconds, but when i'm on a mission, it's 20 seconds. why is this? am i doing something wrong? thanks a lot...
Question on cool down time...

Surely this will be because of weapon weight? For example a shotgun weighs more than a pistol and the more weight the slower the cooldown.

Right. What you need to do is, when you prepare to land and see the weapon loadout screen, only have two weapons at most. You won't need more, especially with an Adept. Common loadout for Adepts would be an SMG (with Ultralight mods) and a Heavy Pistol. For the other spots, make sure you pick the "no weapon" or "option 0".

If you want to check it between missions, go down to the shuttle bay and check the weapon modding bench. That seems to reset your power cooldown timings on the squad screen to take into account your guns.
To be honest, shotguns are a bit ridiculous in ME3 - for some reason they rank as some of the heaviest weapons in the game, even basic stuff like the katana. I run an Adept that is *loaded* with guns and I don't even touch them, as they destroy cooldowns.
