I look forward to seeing this get drowned out in a hundred identical topics of people either claiming the ending sucks or claiming it's fantastic, but it's worth a shot.

A fun game for all to play:

List one thing you dislike about Mass Effect 3, and for every one, you also list something that you did like.

The purpose of this is to let Bioware glean some helpful information from the fans, rather than vague, angry/happy emotional responses that fill up the majority of threads. The more detail the better.

Oh, and this is not a thread for arguing or disagreeing with what other people choose. The idea is for Bioware to read our opinions, not to try and convince other people to think the same as we do.

Have fun. :)

Like: The individual scenario's that play out with our team, and the differences possible. Seeing what happens if you support Wrex and seeing what happens if you don't was amazing to watch.

Dislike: The game makes too many character based decisions for us, especially regarding Shepards emotions. The in-game Shepard (who I always see as supposed to being me) apparently is suffering from post-tramatic stress from witnessing the child on Earth get his shuttle hit, whereas personally it had no emotional impact on me whatsoever. Not because I am cold, but because out of Billions dead, that single child did not stand out for me in the slightest, despite the game trying to make it so.

Like: The way the characters have their own 'lives', they don't just sit around seemingly waiting for you to talk to them any more, they will visit places on the Citadel when there, be in different places around the ships, and have conversations with other crew members.

Dislike: The journal was incredibly unhelpful. I didn't like the hand holding of Mass Effect 2's, but it should at least update and let us know when we have found whatever object we are searching for, and to return it.

Like: The mods were pretty nice, I liked being able to add scopes to different weapons, and on Insanity, it makes it quite interesting to need to think about which weapon/upgrade will work the best for each enemy/scenario. I also liked the increased customisation options for our armour/casual wear, it was a very nice touch.

Dislike: The running animations were... jarring. Mass Effect 1 had it down perfect, not sure why you changed it for ME2 and again for ME3. Femshep also needs her own animation like before.

Like: The way powers now work. I enjoyed having three divergant options to pick for each power, and I liked how you could create Biotic detonations. It was also a nice addition having weapon weight affect cool-down.

Dislike: The entire Kai Leng scene on Thessia. It felt more like it belonged in a Hollywood action film than in Mass Effect. Not only did the fight not make sense (as I would be kicking his ass if the game wasn't literally stopping it from being possible), but it just felt really out of place compared to the rest of the game. It was even more annoying seeing my Shepard get all worked up over it afterwards (look at my first dislike).

Like: The main conflicts and resolutions were very well done, having seen the difference between uniting the Quarians and the Geth, and siding with one over the other, I was stunned by the different  (immediate) outcomes.

Dislike: Some of the choices have no real consequences, including ones we'd logically expect to. The best example is the Rachni. If you save her she is taken by the Reapers and forced to help them. If you choose to kill her the Reapers created a synthetic one to help them. The end result is exactly the same when it comes down to it. If you then decide to help her a second time, all you get is a small bonus to your EMS. It makes you wonder the reason for even having the choice when it means so little.

Like: The way in many cases you went back to the design style of Mass Effect 1. The music, the colour scheme and designs of some areas felt comfortably familiar, and I liked that.

Dislike: It had to be mentioned, but the ending. This is why I personally disliked it:

- The three choices we made all ended up with the exact same outcome as far as we saw. No explanation or detail was given to how the galaxy was changed afterwards, and as such, it felt like they didn't even matter.

- The endings as they are, with the Citadel and the Relays destroyed, basically mean the end of all intelligent life, not because they would destroy lives when broken (like the Alpha Relay), but because it effectively means that the vast majority of sentient life is stranded in the Sol system, with only a single (extremely damaged) planet to sustain life. This planet would also not be suitable for the Quarians and Turians.

- It introduces concepts at the last moment that do not fit into any of the themes previously established in the series. The series has always been about survival, unity and friendship to the player. It has touched upon Synthetics versus organics, but that has never been the prevalent theme, but all of a sudden the final choices address that issue and completely ignore everything else.

- Our choices that have meant a fair amount in the game so far, are reduced to nothing. They are now meaningless because there is no future for anybody.

- No explanation of where Shepard is, or how they could possibly survive that explosion if they did. They were in space when it happened, so there is no logical reason as to how they could survive.

- No explanation of how the team following you on the ground not only survived the attack, but were then picked up on the Normandy (that was in space) or why they'd even agree to that when the mission was still to be completed at the time.
