I think my DAUpdater.exe file is corrupted - the buttons have no text on them. In the log tab, there is text in the box but not outside of it. I have figured out how to install addons, but every addon gets to ~98% then it stops. The top bar is complete and the second is around 98%; it just wont move.

Anyone know how I can get a new one, or repair it?

Probably the xml file that controls it is corrupted.

If you have the steam version just delete the daupdater files and tell steam to verify the files and it will re download them. I wouldn't not rec uninstalling and re installing the game. Probably having someone post you some non corrupt files would be better so you dont muck up your DLCs by uninstalling the game

I dont have the steam file. I have already tried re-installing the game with no success.

Can anyone share the updater file with me? It would be a great help!

DAUpdated.exe is shot to hell and any issues appear unacknowledged by Bioware/EA, so don't expect a fix to it.

We will have to wait for the modding community to come up with some kind of proper mod manager. It kinda feels like the devs are waiting for that too, so they can just keep on ignoring the problem.

is DAUpdater.exe the only way to install the mods/DLC?

To install? By means of a installer, as far as I know, yes.

An alternate method is to rename the .dazip into a .zip file, extract it to the proper folder, and manually add the information in the Manifest.xml to the AddIns.xml file.

o.O I dont think that I am confident enough to do that - I dont want to corrupt my whole game

Is anyone able to either share the files or tell me how to change manifest.xml?

I found the fix!! I figured out that if you delete the addins and manifest files in the

C:\\Users\\username\\Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Settings

folder and redownload everything from ingame that it will also fix the issues with the DAupdater.exe meaning that those files were corrupted somehow. regardless this works and I was able to install third party mods now with the DAupdater.exe !

I recommend making a backup of those two files before deleting them just in case however I have a feeling you won't need them!

Do you use custom themes in Windows? If you do, switch to default theme and try running the updater again.

Or start Windows in safe mode*) and see if it helps.

Delete the files in the folder he listed, then start the game and re-download any additional content from the main screen.

Can't make it any more clear than that.

I cant download the content from there, but I have the .dazip files on my computer. I also want to install mods, which I cant download from ingame.
