And there I thought they couldn't possibly ruin the ending any more than they did.

Sad part is, I'm not even surprised by this **** anymore.

I don't know... what I got from the stargazer scene was that it was supposed to be the same planet as the Normandy crashes on. Two moons / planets in the sky and all that.
If that is the case they wouldn't last even a 1000 years before inbreeding killed them.

A lot can happen in that time.

They can die of poisonous food, predators, bacteria, the air could contain allergens that kills them after a day. The magnetosphere could be so low they die of radiation... Yeah, a lot could happen.
What seems to me most unlikely though is that someone is going to find them. FTL drives that go max 12 LY / 24 hours and need to discharge every 50-60 hours and need constant refueling. To get anywhere you'd need to plot the route very well.
The galaxy is a massive place, finding a specific planet would be almost impossible unless they happen to stumble on them randomly.

Asari reproduction has evolved to be the way it is because of asari's natural biotic abilities and natural occurring eezo on Thessia. Even the codex says the word "evolved," and although it doesn't say what it evolved from, we can speculate that at one point they may have reproduced normally with males/female joinings.

Without mass relays, an asari population on a planet without that eezo would probably lose their biotic abilities over time an maybe start reproducing the old fashioned way... which may result in male asari.

10,000 years is a long time and things change. Not necessarily lore breaking.

Asari biotics are result of Prothean genetic engineering.

Thats what Javik tells to you when you take him to Thessia.

"A little bit asari, a little bit human" isn't exactly hard to interpret the way people are interpreting it.

You're bringing it out of context.

"Maybe it looks....."

When something looks a little bit X, a little bit Y, one can assume it is a little bit X and a little bit Y.

Not that it matters, since the whole quote is a dev note and not intended to be in any way part of the actual game experience...

That does not preclude them from evolving past that particular gene conditioning.

It's not fake. Numerous people have pointed out how you, yourself, can go and verify the validity of the topic at hand.

What proof do you have that it's fake? Other than your opinion?

I guess I'll have to take a look later. Seems completely facepalm material. I didn't get that impression at all from the scene.

Yes, that was what I was trying to say here:

"Again, these are scene direction notes to help guide each sequence, not detailed explanations to the fanbase.

"Maybe it looks...." = Leave it obscure. Make sure you can't tell either way.

We need to read it as a director would, not a rabid fan looking for answers.  "

Well it's not that obscure if the kid is a boy.

Who cares about life 10,000 years in the future? If the Reapers had been allowed to harvest, life still would have reappeared. The galactic civilisation we had come to know was still destroyed, and this does not make it better.

I didn't get the impression it was remotely asari from the scene either...
But the art-direction data in in the game files... Gibbed posted it, and people have verified it... granted it was just art direction, and the graphic artists either didn't run with it, or didn't illustrate it clear enough...

Well not entirely. Instead of no Asari/Humans/Turains etc there now will still be Asari/Human/etc.

edit:
Regarding the appearance of the kid...it's an effing shadow. Asari and humans would have identical appearances

But haven't Asari colonized other worlds for thousands of years as well? They couldn't all be like Thessia.

It's just art direction.  Same as a note to leave something blurry.  The end cut scene they don't look quite human....so they followed it yah

Yeah I'm sure you're right, I just wanted to respond to that weird comment about asari and sperm more than anything.

You know... that's an incredible point. If the Reapers were allowed to...reap... the more advanced races (and leave a handful of the lesser developed ones alone); we would be in the exact some position.

DAMN IT BIOWARE!

This REALLY makes it seem like there's only ONE ending... no matter what we choose, humanity ends up in the exact same boat every...damn....time...

From 'War Games' - "The only winning move... is not to play."

Bears more weight now, than when I first posted it...

Well, there's no maybe about the 10k years into the future. I can relate to them wanting a uni-species look on the humanoids. But 10k years into the future means that the canon ending is that the galactic civs are royally screwed since you get the stargazer after every single of the 16 wildly unique endings.

My constructive feedback Bioware, if you're listening, is that this is pathetic.

No. We. Wouldn't.

There are still shards of the original civilization left. Even in the Dark Ages IRL people still had tiny fragments of the advances that the Romans made.

Plus, the differense is a universe run by the Yahg vs a universe where humanity / Asari / Turians etc eventually recover (since the species are still alive) and then fight the Yahg

Hmmm... true. Very true.
It's not like by destroying the reapers, everything technological would vanish... good point.

This... this is what I get for browsing forums before finishing my morning coffee...

thanks! day seems a bit brighter now!

And? There are plenty of Prothean ruins left in this cycle.

Not really, since everybody else is dead.

What makes you think that the actual species are wiped out (assuming that the relays exploding dont supernova)?

****, even on Earth, which was under heavier Reaper attack for much longer than Thessia/Palaven there was still enough of a population to keep the species alive.
