so i finished the game (again), and after all the extras and credits etc, i'm back on the normandy, and in my journal the mission to start the last mission is still there, also on the galaxy map its still active and if i go there it starts the whole thing again.
why? should it not have cleared the mission log? and the galaxy map?
journal will not update after end

It's the same thing in ME1 
You can't continue your play through after starting the last mission. And obviously (depends on your choice) you are dead after ME3 final mission What do you expect? Killing/Controlling the reapers and after that searching for Biotic Amp Devices?

my shep survived. and as there is a log that comes up at the end saying 'yay you won, the galaxy has been unlocked so you can explore more', and also with dlc coming, you'd think that the journal would update.
i had another look at the loaded game, it loaded the last save before the final mission. so it doesnt even have 'proof' that i finished the game.
