this is what im mainly asking on the carnage tree all the upgrades seem usefull do i take

radius or damage then im guessing incapasitate over recharge then 50% damage or more anti armor?

also on the final armor upgrade, did you go for the faster power recharge or increased durability... as that seems like a hard trade to me both are really usefull

also guessing your mods on grall are increased damage and more secondary ammo

Correct about the mods and this is what I do for Carnage, what I think is most effective.

4> Damage
Increase damage by 30%.


5> Incapacitate
Incapacitate enemies by knocking them down.


6> Damage
Increase damage by 50%.

BTW. If anyone would like I am looking for fellow skillful Krogan players for all Krogan Gold runs. Just for the fun of it. Further discussion of strategy and builds would of course take place. My Origin is Stardusk78.

How effective is this build without a Graal X?

Just wondering because I haven't had great luck with Spectre packs, and my weapons are lackluster. My best shotguns are the Katana X and Claymore I respectivly.

I've been trying the Claymore Soldier bit on gold, and it actually ended up being pretty effective against Geth. Quick way to pick off hunters and Geth Primes are incredibly easy to headshot.

Haven't unlocked the Krogan yet unfortunatly, would try it out myself if that was the case. Would it even be worth trying with one of those shotguns?

The Claymore Krogan Soldier is very good but not as good as the Graal. Katana X is fine imo and will let you use Carnage more often whilst you wait for Claymore/Graal upgrades.

Doesn't the delay before the spikes hit your target bug you? I went with GPS over Graal because of that. My build/playstyle is essentially the same as yours outside of that.

I don't even have the Claymore yet somehow.

I don't notice the delay and obviously, if there is delay it does not affect effciciency.

Watched the video, and I like it. I don't have the Krogan Soldier unlocked yet; but I've wanted to play it in a similar manner since I had it back in the demo.

One thing I would advocate putting into your guide is some considerations on spec and weapon options if you DO NOT have something like the Graal X. It's highly likely someone could easily make it to 20 with the Soldier and only end up having, say, a Katana VII (case and point )

got this to lvl 16 and the build is forming out, tottaly dominating silver I only have a grall III but obvousely on the lower diffculty thats not mattering to much, your much more effective against cerb, since there heads are easy to hit from behind I notice, the grall has issues getting all the shots into the back of the heads on geth and some of the reapers, with cerb thats no problem, one thing I notice is fully charged shots take off the crotch plate and leg plates on an atlas with a singleshot, massivly increasing DPS done to the mech from then on, over all good build and first lot of fun I had since the falcon nerf

You're doing the Graal justice. I only tried it once or twice but didn't like and couldn't handle the delay. I might have to dig it up from the ME3 weapon scrapyard!

It's not that the Krogan Soldier is unable to play or even solo on Gold... ALL classes are capable of a solid performance on Gold in the right hands.  Heck, I just played through Gold yesterday with just me and a friend playing Krogan for a 2-man version of the Krogan Gold Challenge.

However, when (intelligent) people talk about tiers, they're not talking about whether it can be done, but what does it better, faster, et cetera.  Sadly, I'm pretty sure the Krogan simply isn't one of the optimal choices.

Good play, though!  You play the Krogan Soldier very similarly to how I use it, save that I use a Geth Plasma Shotgun (because I have it at X whereas the packs don't seem to want to give me a Graal  ).  It's a fun class, but it's a shame that melee and rage are so seldomly useful.

I'm pretty sure I haven't posted this before, so I'm not sure where the hostility is coming from.  I also do not think that the Asari Adept and Salarian Infiltrator dominate the top tier team compositions.

First thing I got in the demo was krogan soldier.
Now in full game, countless of packages later I still don't have any krogan :/

I don't like it. Spread is not as tight as Graal and stagger effect is unreliable.

There was an entire thread back a while ago about how useless Krogan are on Gold with suggestions to make them invunerable so they can be played 'properly'.
