I know a lot of people are talking about the ending for ME3
I rarely comment in forum by I would like to share my
personal take on the ending. At first I was overcome by an emotion. I felt a
sinking in chest as I had actually become quite taken with this game on a
whole. Like someone said it was also like a television show except you decide
how it plays out. That being said there are people who are disappointed at the
ending feeling it is not what they would have wanted. I really disagree but
understand where they are coming from. To me ME3 really brought the philosophical
undertones to the forefront. If we think about the theory we can understand the
ending.
What made ME so real are the valid fears many human beings hold. It brought to
life the very questions many people since the dawn of time have asked. To me
this was the play on the game. If we go
back through history we see the same tones depicted throughout the story line.
I hope people don’t think I’m crazy but just really sit and think about the
ending as an explanation to present day.
I truly believe this is a game to spark thought in the minds of others. The
very way art, music and literature have done so for centuries. This is simply
another means of getting a story across. I am not a hardcore gamer by any means. I
simply enjoy what they have to offer as different mental stimulation. From day
one this trilogy caught me like no other game has. The extraordinary detail on
every level truly makes it unique.
Many people have devised alternate endings and thoughts on what it really
means. I could be very off base in my opinion. However, the very context of the
game makes the ending a perspective more than anything. For me it is a very
real cause and effect moment that many people could parallel to real life. We
see many interpretations through history or a “Great Sacrifice” this game is no
different. To have balance something must give. For those of you heartbroken
over the ending don’t be. Realize this game has given a great dose of reality
to how things in life can really play out. Look past the surface and realize there
are many questions we don’t have answers to.
Again, this is just my perspective on the ME3 ending. To me the ME trilogy is a
means of provoking thought on a realistic plain. A way to make a connection
with a theory that engages both emotional and logical minds. A way to come full circle and ponder those questions we have yet to answer.
My take on the ending is positive. (Spoiler)
