Isn't Tali suppose to represent innocence? Can't make her 'too' attractive now

Too much like the Asari for me. Maybe if they did something with those head-flanges.

I was curious at first how she would look, then I saw the Pic and was kinda disappointed. Not that its a bad picture, but rather that everyone had an image in his head how Quarians look like. Everyone imagined her to be be perfect in the way they like. Now we have something and all the fun of guessing, imagining and pretending how she looks is gone. I would have prefered if we just got some clues how a quarian looks or see a different quarian without his mask. Like in the Geth-server mission. You see a quarian without his suit and thats it. (remember shepard did indeed saw a Quarian without his suit, if he romanced Tali that is. Another plot-hole right there.)

I think the point isn't that the picture in and of itself is bad.  The point really is that up until that picture, no fan knew what a Quarian looked like.  In fact, in the game itself, it's implied that very few lifeforms have ever seen a quarian without their suit and mask.  This was a major theme within the Mass Effect series and one that the writers wrote into various banter/cut scenes in all three games.  Unveiling a quarian, but especially Tali, was going to receive a lot of fanfare and scrutiny.   As such, you'd think Bioware would have at least created an original image or if not, done a better job photoshopping the image so that it at least gave us the impression that they spent more than five minutes on it.  On top of that, you have potential lore problems.  Where did she take the photo?

You see what I mean?  The whole thing was handled in a rather cavalier manner considering the amount of fan devotion to Tali.  I'll add as a side note that photoshopping Tali's photo doesn't lend much credence to the whole "art defence" that is currently being offered to the ending controversy.

I also find it offensive that they gave Jack the extreme makeover treatment, but couldn't be arsed to render Tali's face.

*Nods in agreeance.* And with all these new characters, I find it very lazy that Tali couldn't get one cut-scene with her face. She can keep the mask on for the rest of the game. At the very least, if you romanced Tali in ME2, you should see her face. We were owed that much.

This also bothered me. I wanted a full 3D render and Liara style romance scene. But I think the biggest issue I have is the ending starting with Priority: Earth. I am willing to let this go in favor of fixing the ending.

Fun facts. Tali and Jack were born the same year. 2161. Kasumi was born 2160. Ash was born on April 14th, 2158.

Think about it, spend 5 years romancing someone and all they give you for it is a picture. Yeah, awesome! (no, not really.)

How Tali looked in the picture was great by artistic standards even if it was photoshopped. How she looked wasn't the problem, it was the fact that it was only a picture. It was very cheesy & pathetic of BW to put that much time into developing the romance without even rendering a couple frames of game time for her.

This. At least she looks beautiful, young and enough alien-like.

This option is similar to the in game image...

Yeah but the ingame image is weird. It doesn't even correspond to what it should. (Remember when javik said that in there cycle Quarian = beautiful creature ? Well it pretty much means they had some prothean traits. (kinda like asari have turian and human traits)

I prefer the overall design of the in-game photoshop (purple skin, what looks like air holes or markings down her neck, white eyes, etc), regardless of the fact that it's just a photoshop.

Again, only issue I had was the long flowing hair, which would have been impractical considering her envirosuit.

That image looks like....if the Cat girl captain from Treasure Planet fused with Alma from Ninja Gaiden (Xbox).

Plus the overall shape doesn't work with the way her helmet/hood is designed.  Not to mention her eyes are white and luminescant, not black and gold.

Love the good art, though.

Sorry but I always hoped she was a bug eyed squid monster from the swamps of doom just to put to the test everyone's "I didn't pick her for her looks, I chose her because of whats inside her heart and her personality!" I also have to admit taking some (slight) pleasure in the fact everyone kept throwing around the placeholder argument to defend making her look human whenever I made the bug eyed monster preference known. It amused me that they got a placeholder face where they once championed a placeholder image to prove their point. Though i admit that it is a bit mean of me but I won't lie it made me laugh just a little. Going with my bug eyed monster doesn't seem such like bad idea now eh?

Not that my reply directly partains to the topic at hand but....this is why I loved Tali.

Granted I never did the above, but if you did something like that to Miranda, or Garrus, or Ashley, would they still have your back? I doubt it.

I think that's my favorite one so far.  Again, it is too human, but it captures her "cuteness" perfectly.

Then again, through her visor, she DOES look human.  Take this pic, make her eyes white and luminescent, change her skin to purple, add a few minor details (markings, etc) and there we go, what Tali should look like!

Tali is Dextros like Garrus, therefore their morphology should at least be a bit similar to turians rather than human.
You can see that her legs are bent slightly, like the Turians

In any case, there can be no excuse for that ****ty picture of Tali. No thought was put into it and no work was put into it either

If i tried to pass something off like that in school, i would get a failing grade

Humans are levo-amino, but so are Krogan, Salarians, Rachni and Vorcha. I don't think the chirality has anything to do with morphology.

all i care about is beauti. Most aliens in ME3 have limbs, 2 eyes, 1 nose, 1 mouth thus resembles human closesly. what's to stop Tali being a cute human-looking woman?

To each his own. Personally while I think the OP is correct in saying she's very pretty my tastes is that she is too human, and really is there that much of a difference between that picture and what is actually in the game? I voted on the poll for number 1, and unless in DLC they show Tali's face on her character model I will envision her looking like that.

Isn't the face the OP posted just a bit of artwork biased off the one we where presented with in game? Sure looks similar.

THat looks like the portrait of a corpse. Not a fugly Quarian.
