Isn't the face the OP posted just a bit of artwork biased off the one we where presented with in game? Sure looks similar.
Possible reconciliation with stock photo and internal images of Tali.
Keeps Romanji theme.
Appreciate greatly.

That would lend a great deal of mystery and speculation to the world of mass effect, and could be a cool story device.

uh it looks exactly like the one we got...damn you people are stupid.
Hostility unwarranted. Further, features of woman in photo not point of contention. Instead, laziness of application.
Crowd would not have been bothered if model used. Crowd bothered that model's previous portrait was bought, had two fingers cut off, glossed with blue haze.

This. The pic here actually had effort put into it, and looks damn good. The one in game is just lazy photoshop of a stock photo.

Think about it, spend 5 years romancing someone and all they give you for it is a picture. Yeah, awesome! (no, not really.)
How Tali looked in the picture was great by artistic standards even if it was photoshopped. How she looked wasn't the problem, it was the fact that it was only a picture. It was very cheesy & pathetic of BW to put that much time into developing the romance without even rendering a couple frames of game time for her.
LOL, ARTISTIC STANDARD. let me tell you that no competent artist would pass off a characters design by photoshoping a stock photo and passing it off as their own work. The woman in the picture is beautiful, and the stock photo was a work of art. BUT this does not mean that they can just take some one else's work, add a purple paint over it, and call it their own, even though its not copy righted
This is lazy and borderline plagerism and is another prime example of what a hack job ME3 turned out to be

In fact, in the game itself, it's implied that very few lifeforms have ever seen a quarian without their suit and mask. This was a major theme within the Mass Effect series and one that the writers wrote into various banter/cut scenes in all three games. Unveiling a quarian, but especially Tali, was going to receive a lot of fanfare and scrutiny.
It seems like people would still know what a quarian would look like though, even if they never saw one in person. Surely there were films, photos, or art of quarians from their days before the geth uprising?
I actually think BioWare was smart to not reveal how Tali looks throughout ME2. The expectation would be very hard to satisfy, and I think part of her charm is that you don't really know how she looks. It might have been interesting for them to show a non-suited quarian other than Tali simply so that players could get some idea of the parameters.

There are several fan art pics made of Tali's face, nearly all better than what we got.
yeah throughout ME2 I was imaging them all as looking like Lynx from Chrono Cross. Except less fluffy. Actually now that I think of it I was imaging them as looky pretty creepy so maybe the stock photo is better.

And considering Asari and Krogan live for around 1000 years you'd think a bunch of them would know what they look like. Hasn't it only been 300-400 years in the flotilla?

All it does is create a conflicting image for the character. Tali has a mask. That is who she is and no matter what is underneath it will be completely satisfactory to all.
Why do you think Bungie sidestepped the issue in the Halo series?
