So I have the painted box and the quest to deliver it.  I take it to the mysterious door in Denerim and they slip me some gold.  End of quest.

Is that really all there is to the quest?  Is there no way to find out what is in the box or who is in that house?  Is there any continuation to the story or any consequence of returning the box?  Anything else you can do with the box like maybe give it back to First Enchanter Irving?

It really bugged me that we don't get more story to this quest.  I hope I'm missing something :)

Im going to guess that they put that quest there just to mess with your mind. Your mind in particular.

Either that, or there was the option to open the box, casting you into an interdimensional prison where you must engage in a battle of riddles with an ancient prisoner of a mysterious race for your freedom. But then deadlines loomed, so they just cut the option to open the box and saved a week of development time.

In short I dont know. I just assumed Red Jenny was supposed to be some sort of shadowy figure in the backstory and this was just a nod to that without getting too involved.

on one playthrough I found kickass gloves Red Jenny Seekers or something rogue only tier 7 that gave around +15% to melee crit of corse i wasn't playing with a rogue and I already cut zevrans throat so they didn't do me much good think there's probably some kinda backstory to it based on the lore from the gloves

What about the plot twist where you ARE the Archdemon?

The Red Jenny Seekers are the last reward from the "Trial of the Crows" series of quests.

I'd guess that "Red Jenny " is Denerim/Ferelden's analogue to Antiva's "Crows".

As far as I know, that quest is designed to make you think "hmm… I must've missed something", when you really haven't. Unless I really have missed something :bandit:

I, for one, am all in favour of a mod/patch that adds that! It's was amusing doing that in KotOR.

It's a weapon of mass destruction. Red Jenny is a terrorist organization.

Congratulations, you destroyed Ferelden.

some things you aren't meant to know. not even the Grey Wardens can handle the truth behind everything.

I'm guessing it's in there as an opening to add DLC down the line without having it feel like something tacked on afterwards.

I agree witht he idea of "Red Jenny" being the Fereldan counterpart of "Antivan Crows"..... with the exception of public knowledge.

Whilst the Antivan crows are, as Zev puts it, out in the open to a point that authorities go out of their ways to avoid various trespasses on "law". Whereas, perhaps, "Red Jenny" prefers to be more enigmatic...

Perhaps that box of Irvings was something a mark wanted? Seeing as you do not have to talk to one of them to get the quest, and just pick up the box... perhaps it is enchanted? Who knows :P

You forgot about the evil little girl laugh that you hear when you return the "magical" package...
