So I am doing the elven ritual quest, filled the jug of water, left the pool alone, went to examine sarcophagus...won't let me...I'm almost 100% I'm at the right one...am I doing something wrong..?

You gotta pray then grab the jug and empty back into pool.  There are instructions on that page you linked, do it exactly

Wrong altar. You need a little red altar which is in one of the walls just behind the small pool of water. If you face the locked door behind the pool, its the wall on your right. Get close and you will get the golden eye and sparkles.



You then need to do what it says on the note - fill jug, place jug on water, kneel, sip etc etc.

yea i found that out ^^; I feel like a twit
