So, what, am i to believe that they had everything lined up as they said in the interviews that they knew would get the fans going, only to completely wipe it all out at the last second because......what? See i can't even finish that sentence the predicament is so dumb.

Post-gold comments are just as bad, and they aren't during development. They are after the game was finalized and being printed.

Stupidity, thoughtlessness, and dishonesty doesn't need reasons. I've learned the hard way that no matter how dumb the situation or action they can happen regardless. The real sticking point for me and many others is that EA/Bioware refuses to really acknowledge, let alone admit their actions. Then they sit around, scratching their heads, wondering way so many people are PO'd. Stupidity at it's finest. You don't lie and/or mislead your fans and customers. The minute you lose their trust and confidence is the time your business starts walking down a slippery slope. Only a matter of time, chance and circumstance until you fall.

This. It's really infuriating how they don't even care that they deceived their whole fanbase with these statements.

Has this been forgotten? Or just rendered pointless?
i think its just pointless now everyone knows what bioware did now and everyone knows that nothing is going to be dead about it and bioware will get away with it. Hopefully they wont do it again but im not holding my breath and im probably buying bioware games used from now on.

Maybe I haven't read enough threads but...
It pretty much is clear that the current version of the game has three possible endings (not counting slight variations) and that these aren't much different from each other.
Wouldn't that be enough to prove that Bioware made promises they didn't keep? Wouldn't that merit at least someone in charge coming down here to say: "You know guys, you are right. We are sorry." Regardless if they try to fix it or not?
Otherwise, the only thing I can believe is that the whole issue is just one huge publicity stunt and that they tried to trick us into... hating the game? Doesn't make much sense. Maybe it got out of hand?

Maybe they really wanted more for ME3, I'm sure quite a few of them are as invested in the series as the fans are, but they just weren't given any time.
As for the post gold statements, I really don't know, perhaps they were just trying to keep their jobs with EA breathing down their necks?

The problem is that technically there are something like 16 different "endings." Yes, Bioware counts every minor variation as a different ending. Yes, game companies have been using that very loose definition of "different" for YEARS. It's actually very common. If a company touts [X] number of endings, you can effectively chop that number by a third, and have a count that would be more in line with what humans possessing common sense would consider "different."
It's intellectually dishonest, but it's also perfectly legal.

Then again, who cares about lawsuits... I want my ME3 to be epic, not Bioware bankrupted.

If so, then someone needs to start calling game companies to the mat for it.
The fact that no one does in a court of law tells me its either A) legal or

Though I admit at one time I did support this thread, but NOT the idea of a law suit, that's just going over board in my opinion.

You know, it won't be long before this thread gets locked. Bioware has gone on a locking spree, closing down threads that point out their mistakes.
So... yeah.
You clearly read all of the posts in this thread including the second one informing people to keep on topic, civil and to further the thread so it doesn't get locked. Woops!
The thing that confuses me here is that there doesn't seem to be anyway to disagree. It's a clear cut case of false promises. Even if you loved the endings you can't disagree because it's fact that you'd be wrong. The most evident example is Casey's comment "you won't get a, b or c ending" (paraphrasing). I know this can be disputed by whether big Ben blows up or not etc... But these don't define different endings and are just a consequence of your actions throughout the game. (A) Control, (

This debacle has definitely put a huge dent in my trust for Bioware.
I won't be buying the products of a company I can no longer trust. Did it with Lionhead Studios, did it with Activision, guess I'll have to do it with Bioware unless they can fix their mistake.
